so many things! hearty food and wearing all my sweaters and drinking hot toddies. i love autumn so much, especially in louisville bc everything looks INCREDIBLE. also in lville, i am excited to be able to breathe the air outside again haha it gets so nasty and muggy in the ohio river valley. we have some of the worst air anywhere bc all that midwest industrial pollution settles in the valley and my skin hates it and my lungs hate it. in the autumn its cool and breezy and smells like leaves and rain and its lovely <3

you might have to call and check! the place we’re going tomorrow didn’t advertise it at all (which like.... defeats the purpose but w/e), i just called them out of the blue bc they’re not too far away.

please explain this friday the 13th tattoo thing!! is it a promotion that a local tattoo parlor does, or is it a tradition with you and liz? (or both??) i'm so frickin intrigued

a lot of tattoo parlors have friday the 13th promos! it’s like you go in and pick a tattoo design from a sheet (usually they’re very small designs that have the number 13 incorporated into them somehow) and you get it for $13 plus a mandatory minimum $7 tip!

for those not in the know, usually tattoo parlors have a minimum charge of $50-$80, depending on the place, so getting a tattoo for $20 is like. astonishingly cheap. so places doing friday the 13th promotions are usually packed. last month liz and i waited in line for seven hours.

i wasn't sure if it was exactly a zeugma? because it's not really that there's one word that modifies two words in different ways (which is what a zeugma is), but more that one word means two things and the rest of the sentence makes the double meaning clear?? idk i almost was like "it's a zeugma" but i'm not sure that it is?
