and sleeping about 4 hours a night and working 40+ hours a week. Don’t even get me started on how much I really do not know about hair design! However, I can’t stand up here on my little metaphorical platform and say it’s all been bad. I’m learning…a lot! And I already have my first practical and written test coming up soon, although I can’t tell you exactly when as they keep moving it around. As of today it should be on the 17th. Or was it the 20th? See what I mean?
Anyway in class, I’ve learned how to straighten and blow dry hair correctly, how to curl hair correctly using both Marcel stoves and electric irons, and most importantly how to cornrow and French braid. I can finally braid hair! Learning to braid has definitely been my favorite part of this hair module. Here’s some photos of what I have done in class so far:
French Braid design
Cornrow braid practice
Marcel Curl design
Flower hair design
French Twist design
I also got a 100/100 on my first quiz!! I’m finding the more I practice hair and get creative with it the more I enjoy it. Because trust me there were and still are days I totally want to throw in the towel on hair.
I plan on making another post about school post-practical so I can kind of explain how the practical is set up and how it went. But I also started using the Dermatologica skincare system that came with my kit so I wanted to do a first impressions/ review on it before I posted my next school update. But we will see how it plays out. Talk to you soon!
