#BeamItTips Part 4: Group Photo Wall, Full Screen View, and Offline Mode

Welcome back to another round of #BeamItTips. Today we are coming at you with a few more awesome features, so get ready!

Photo Wall

While BeamIt is a private messaging app, one of our key focuses is creating the optimal photo sharing and viewing experience.  If you love your photos just like us, we’ve got the perfect feature for you! The group photo wall, which you can access from any one of your groups by clicking on the wall icon at the top of the screen, allows you to look through all the hundreds of photos that your group members have shared in the form of our classic 3D viewing wall. In here, you can scroll through all your photos without ever having to sift through lines of text! From the photo wall, you can even select multiple photos at a time and save them to your camera roll.

Full Screen Photo View

In addition to scrolling through all your group's photos at once, BeamIt also allows you to focus on each one of your photos individually, in full screen and full resolution. No matter where you find a photo, whether it's in group view or the photo wall, all you have to do is tap on that photo and it will appear in full screen mode.

From there, in the bottom right-hand corner will appear the icons representing options to like, comment, and send the photo you are currently viewing to another person or group. In the top right-hand corner, you also have the option of saving the photo to your camera roll.

Offline Mode

We know it isn’t always easy to stay in touch with your friends and family, especially if you are a frequent traveler or find yourself coming across those far too common spotty internet connections. That’s exactly why we created BeamIt’s offline mode! With this feature, even when no WiFi is available, you can still view and share messages and photos.

When you post something to a group during offline mode, a small orange circle to the right of the group name at the top of your screen will indicate that your post is pending, meaning your fellow group members cannot yet see it. If you return to the homepage, orange text at the bottom of your screen will also indicate that your changes are pending. However, as soon as you are back online, the pending signals will disappear and BeamIt will automatically add your posts for you!

#BeamItTips Part 3: Start a group with friends & send to multiple groups simultaneously

Ever wish that you could send the same message to multiple different groups at once instead of re-writing or copying and pasting the message multiple times? Or that you could invite an unlimited number of your friends to one group conversation?

Finally, BeamIt offers unique and easy-to-use sharing features that you’ve been waiting for in a private messaging app.

How to start a group with your friends

Whether it’s a group of 50 people or a one-on-one conversation, composing a new message is easy and fast with BeamIt. First, tap the “new message” button, then simply type in the email of each person you would like to invite to the group. You can then compose your message by typing in the messaging box, attaching an unlimited number of photos, or both. As a major bonus, you can even type in the emails of people who don’t have BeamIt yet and they will still receive your new message through an email invitation!

How to send a message to multiple groups

Now say you want to share some photos of your last vacation with two different BeamIt groups - one to your mom in a one-on-one conversation, and the other to your group of best friends. With other messaging apps, you’d have to compose each message separately, then re-write your message and re-attach all the photos in two different groups. Instead with BeamIt, all you have to do is compose a message and then just select all the groups you want to send to. This way you’ll send your photos to each private group separately yet simultaneously. It’s that easy, and the number of groups you can send to is unlimited, too!

#BeamItTips Part 1: Liking, Commenting, and Unsend Finally Brought to Private Messaging

A huge thanks to all of the users and supporters of BeamIt, our newly-released visual messaging app! To make your use of BeamIt as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we want to share some quick tips and tricks to help you out with a few of BeamIt’s key features. This week, we’d like to explain how BeamIt allows you to quickly share your reactions in direct response to photos and messages within a private group and how to unsend a post that you shared.

Liking and commenting – finally here in a messaging app!

With BeamIt, you can like or comment on a text or photo your friend shared with you. All you have to do is tap and hold on that photo or text and then choose either the “like” or “comment” button when the list of options pops up. It’s that easy! You can even comment on a comment by pressing down on the original comment and writing your response.

Unsend your post

What happens when you accidentally share an embarrassing photo or send a message that wasn’t meant for the group to see? No worries! You can easily unsend it by tapping and holding and then choosing the “delete” option. The photo or text will then disappear from everyone’s view immediately!
