she’s about 3 months old now, and doesn’t spend much time in the sun, she mostly stays with my in my room 90% of the time. the only light spots we have in our house are the front door when we leave it open and the window sill where her cat tree is. and even then, she really doesn’t spend much time there.

Ok, it's probably ghosting then! 3 months is still baby, she's got plenty of time to outgrow those - enjoy them while they last! If they stick around, esp if they appear on the face, then it'll be silver <3

Oh wow that's so interesting...... I still can't completely say for sure, but a better look at the face is confusing me!

Smokes almost always, if not always, have some degree of "tabby M," even if it's just above their eyes

These are the darkest, least-tabby M'd smokes I could find pictures of, to give you an idea.

But these are SUCH intense ghosts! Ghost stripes like that get less intense as they grow up, not more intense:

hey, me again! just a quick question, would the presence of agouti hairs change anything about my kitten just having ghost striping?

hiya! Probably not since that's what ghost striping is, faint agouti that usually goes away but sometimes doesn't. Sometimes the a allele isn't very good at its job lol. Cool af to see individual hairs up close!!

hihi! I’m the one who had questions about my kitten on youtube! here’s some pics of her! the base of all her hairs look silvery-ish and you can see she has some sort of blotchy stripes going on. they were very faint when I first got her but the fur around is now turning silver.

Cool! I can definitely see what u mean, those ghosts are pretty intense...

It does look like the nonstripe-hairs in the 2nd pic have the kind of gradient we see inhibitor cause, but it's harder to tell on a shorthair. If it looks like that in the "non-stripes," but not the "stripes," I'd call that silver.

I do want to call this silver just bc I haven't seen ghost striping that intense on an adult before, but that isn't a 100%.

Can I get some more fullbody pics, and can I see the face? :3
