While I gather the images to write the next update of Wyvernleap's tree, I thought I'd start sharing that big oc tree I mentioned before. Technically, some members of the tree are based off characters from tv shows, but alot of them are just ocs.
This is the current completed tree. The tree is from a roleplay, so it's getting bigger, but alot of the new characters don't have cat designs yet, and this tree is already huge without adding more characters' partners, kids, and partners' families. (Plz ignore Josh and Brent in the 3rd image, that tree isn't connected to the main tree in this version of the family tree)
Figuring out the genes of every cat here was a headache. And, since these characters weren't originally made as cats, some descriptors had to be changed (like all Shihou and Mihou's children who are meant to look like Mihou). Now, could I have just made Shihou cinnamon so that the kids that look like Mihou could still be black and blue? Sure, but at least one of their daughters had to be a tortie, and I didn't want to make Shihou a tortie as well. So, I just had to accept that the sons(except MK, more on him later) would be ginger and the daughters would be torties.
The cats who got me started on this tree were Shihou and Mihou, and their several children. Shihou's side is smaller, so let's start there.
Shihou and his sister Mahou are adopted by Mugua and Bailang. Shihou and Mahou are not biologically related, nor are they related to their parents, so they can't get any genes from them.
Mugua is a cream and white mackerel tabby, her unnamed mother was a darker ginger mackerel with low white whom Shihou is meant to resemble due to Mugua claiming he's the spirit of her dead mother reborn. Bailang was originally a white wolf character, so he's a white cat here. Mahou is a black tortie. I don't remember what stripes I gave her. Also, my friend chose for her to be tortie, despite her other name being Hong Mao, aka "red-furred". The character also had blue eyes, so must have some white.
Mahou had a single daughter with her mate Tongbi. Tongbi is a cream ticked cat with low white and no tail. He's hetero ticked so his daughter can have her stripe pattern, which is spotted. Star a ginger spotted tabby with low white so she can have her mom's eyes.
Shihou had a single daughter through magic water, so basically with himself. Why his clone has classic stripes instead of mackerel, idk. She also has blue eyes from the magic water, so who knows. I sure didn't when I made this plot point in the story.
Oh, also, Tongbi is carrying for longhair, because everyone else on the tree so far has been longhair.
Anyway, the clone, aka River, had a child with a guy named Azure. Normally, I make Azure's warriors design into a caracat or some other wildcat domestic cat crossbreed with the tufted ears, or make him a mainecoon. Here, I gave him the smaller rounded ears instead of the big ears for some reason. So I guess he's just a regular blue tabby now.
Their daughter's name means orchid, or blue depending on how it's pronounced. She is a blue torbie, River is carrying dilution now. Who knows where it came from. She also has a bit of white to keep her mother's blue eyes.
I'm gonna have to do Mihou's side in another ask, and then their kids in a third, because there is alot of cats. Who knows, maybe I'll have that bigger version of the tree finally filled out by the time we get to the kids.
