Wait a damn minute
I just noticed something important guys omg hear me out wait (not gonna say it’s game changing but it makes sense ??? Like it really does ??? Maybe I’m dumb and all of this was obvious and everyone noticed and I’m just slow lmfao idk but hear me out and tell me what you think)
In the English version of the song, Mora says
‘I’ll keep you safe, I’m on your team
And when it feels like just a dream’
Yeah ? Now the French version goes like this :
‘J’te ramènerai là sur la grève
Quand on s’dira que c’est un rêve’
Which means :
‘I’ll bring you back to the beach
When we (you) think it’s just a dream’
And like, it’s literally what happens right ? At the end of the episode, Bean thinks she imagined everything but we understand with the necklace washing ashore that Mora was there and probably brought her back to shore, so the song is kinda foreshadowing of the end right ?
But then if you listen to the song again with this perspective, you can see that the lyrics are actually not only meant to be cute and all, but that they’re literally meant to be a story ? Mora relates Bean’s encounter with her people (‘they say you’re a drowner’ which is what one of her sisters says when they meet, and ‘but I can keep you floating if you just hold on to me’ which is again what happens when she first brings Bean to the island)
And then comes the dream part that I translated that literally foreshadows what happens at the end of the episode.
So the first part of the song relates the events of the episode.. does that mean the rest of the song foreshadows what will happen later in the series ? That there will be a war and that we will see Mora again ??
