On bear identity

My problem has always been that i have always associated with aesthetic or physical appearance factors of subcultures and not everything about them. When I was 12, I dressed like a rocker but listened to Hip hop and bubble gum pop. Now, at 30, I look like a bear (or whatever the furry animal du jour is), but I feel out of place with most other aspects of the subculture. Why do we try to shove people in a corner based on their body types?
