When someone is told that all their hard work to get somewhere/something was for nothing, because it doesn‘t exist.
For example: Maze Runner Triolgy. The books may I add. It has this bittersweet ending, I just love so much. But the twist is in my opinion most prominent in the 2nd book. When all characters went through the scorch and find out the Save Haven does not exist. Man that hurt.
