i am going to make some silly concept art for bear trap …… soooon………….. only a few characters i have designs sort of for: the cafe owner, the bride, the ranger, the company, and the hanger man

story stuff + cobbled together thoughts

ok to expand on the haunted house thing because now it’s occupying my brain

some things have a will of their own, sometimes those things are buildings, and sometimes they’re a wooded island off the coast of approximately Europe and Maybe modern earth.

sometimes, houses are malicious, and sometimes, they were never meant for humans. sometimes an island off the backside of (maybe) north america was perfectly built for something that definitely was NOT humans.

meaningless writing aside i think for the sake of the story the island is its own character, maybe the Mentor, the mother, or just lord fucking henry, and will be treated as such. to different people it may play many different roles. the island is not the antagonist nor is it villainous or spiteful, it just pushes and pulls, in and out.

i should come up with an actual name for Island...... anyway

no one on the Island considers themself X Islander or X Island local. they live there, they pass there, and they’re fortunate enough to stay. the younger ones, 20s, 30s, occupy the edges of the island where the white houses sit forever pressing against the shoreline; they leave, eventually.

the center of the island, the old hills, and the vineyard, the farms, the village, is where generations have taken root, occupants bouncing around like a godless ping pong ball up the fucking walls for decades now. (no there is no inbreeding. people go in they don’t just go out)

the island is NOT the main focus whatsoever this is also not a horror game all this stuff would theoretically be written in as subtext only and should stay as such
