Yo, I've been reading your fanfic for Darkest Dungeon and it's like my favorite one so far. Goddamn it's good. I've been obsessed with the game since I started playing it and have been internally combusting to find someone to talk about it with so if you ever wanna chat about headcanons, lore, etc, hmu

the game has an immense amount of ground to cover with religion, anachronisms, and the causal loop, but there’s a lot of conceit as well (as in, things that are just game mechanics, like how the sanitarium can cure any ill, which one of the devs said doesn’t have a story-based reason behind it.) parsing what is and what isn’t relevant to the story is difficult, which makes writing around it difficult. I ended up writing around the fact that there’s open gaps in the crypt which means that they could just get up and leave at any point in time if they were too injured, which I feel like they would definitely do.
actually, before I keep going, have you finished the game yet? I definitely wouldn’t want to spoil the ending for you.
