Now, while I thought my two Finnish bears were the start of my collecting orphan bears, a friend in England reminded me this week that I had actually purchased bears 15 years prior at some of the UK charity stores whike visiting her. Bear on a Chair ... the beginning? As I was photographing my bear collection yesterday, my mother-in-law asked me when I started collecting my orphan bears. It must've been during my first visit to Finland in 2012 for my youngest son's wedding when I was introduced to "kirpes", the Finnish word for second hand stores.
