Chicago Bears have placed Kevin White on PUP List

Bears first round pick Kevin White will start the season on the PUP List

Chicago Bears head coach John Fox announced today that Kevin White will start the camp on the PUP list with a shin injury. The seventh pick from West Virginia needs to improve his “Cardio” according to Fox, before letting him on the field.

Chicago Bears have signed former Redskins CB Tracy Porter

Tracy Porter the former Saints defensive back is now a Bear

Today the Chicago Bears announced they signed veteran cornerback Tracy Porter to a one-year deal, giving them some depth in the secondary.

Porter was released by Washington earlier this offseason, a day after coach Jay Gruden said he had “flight issues” which kept him from the first day of OTAs.

Porter has also played for the Saints and Raiders, and spent a year with new Bears coach John Fox in Denver in 2012. Porter reunites with GM Ryan Pace and coach John Fox; he played from 2008-11 on Pace’s Saints and in 2012 on Fox’s Broncos. Tracy Porter was the Super Bowl hero for the Saints.

During that time, he started 60 of 68 games, recording 288 tackles, 10 interceptions and 52 pass breakups. He returned three picks for touchdowns. Porter also forced three fumbles and recovered three.

The Indiana alum was selected No. 40 overall in 2008.
