Nepeta placed the kettle down on the stove, turning on the burner to begin heating water for tea. Shortly after becoming a Jedi Knight she had moved into a one bedroom apartment located in the New Jedi Temple on Coruscant. It was small, but it was home and it was all her own. Many people might find the space too cramped, but Nepeta found it cozy and it was all she needed. After all, she was rarely in the space during the day and was often off planet participating in Jedi missions, so the space was more than sufficient. The front door opened into a kitchenette and living room combination, which was the only common space in the apartment. Off of the main room, was the bedroom and small bathroom. The space was filled with small keepsakes from different planets she had visited and the walls were custom painted, covered with murals and small scenes.
The Jedi Knight hummed to herself, arranging a plate of cookies to accompany the tea she was preparing. She had bought the sweets earlier today, as much as she would have liked to make them from scratch, baking was not one of her skills. Using the force, Nepeta lifted the tea set and snack platter, moving the dishes over to the table, while she turned her attention back to the kettle, which was now whistling. Turning the burner off, she carried the last of the things over by hand. The Echani woman was rather fond of tea, finding the hot beverage rather relaxing and an excellent drink to have over casual conversation. Leaning over, Nepeta picked up the small kitten scampering underfoot. Cooing at the small creature, she smiled brightly and sat down on the couch. During her travels, she often happened upon stray cats. Nobody could convince the Knight to leave the animals behind, not even Khotet had been able to convince her to do so while she was his student. If there was time, she would try to find someone to take care of the cats on the planet, but many of the cats wound up coming back to Coruscant with her. Nepeta did her best to find a Jedi or a citizen to take in the animal, however, until she could find each a good home, they all lived in the apartment with her.
Dangling a length of string above the kittens head, Nepeta kept both herself and the cat entertained. Shortly after, a knock on the door sent her scrambling. Letting out an excited yelp that her guest was here, Nepeta crossed the room quickly and tossed open the door, revealing the tall albino wookie on the other side. “Khotet!” She cried out happily, launching herself at the Jedi Master and wrapping her arms around him in a hug. A large smile on her face, she refused to let go for a full minute. Of course, she still saw her former master on a semi regular basis, but that was mostly when they were out on official Jedi business. So, today was all about catching up in a more relaxed manner.
