Okay this is gonna make me sound like a conspiracy theorist but I’m like 50% sure that Tumblr is deliberately trying to implement dogshit features so they can 1) drive away the user base then 2) shut it down without pissing off shareholders of the parent company. im going to be a hater for a sec but anyone else think Pawborough just Sucks Ass? Like it's just kinda dogshit. I'm unfortunately hyperfixated on it rn because number go up but ummmmmm
1) core gameplay loop is boring
2) G1 cats near impossible to obtain
3) the requirements to submit a custom pelt are fucking insane, especially for a project that's already making money (kickstarter) AND advertises itself as "by artists, for artists". Like no the fuck it is not lol
4) breeding mechanics are incredibly boring
5) all the images are fucking huge so the site takes 3 to 4 business years to load
6) holy spaghetti code batman
7) what does the fucking backend of this website look like?
8) their forums have likes and dislikes like it's fucking reddit. worse still is that it's the DEFAULT SORTING OPTION.
9) there's like two point one clothing items. they're really, *really* relying unpaid player artists to pick up the slack.
10) the balancing on how often you get certain items and how much you need to craft stuff is incedibly off. one million mice but no cotton to make clothes.
11) because you needed to donate on kickstarter or to currently spend IRL money to have any chance of affording nice looking cats, entire sections of the economy are off limits to most players AND it's created this money-hungry and competitive community that just kinda... sucks. It's not fun.
12) This is a dress up sim with a shoddy game attached
13) Just go play Pixel Cats End. The good version of Pawborough has existed for years and it's PCE. Literally every mechanic and goal of PB (artist friendly, pretty cats, fun adventures, good community, dress up sim, etc.) is already on PCE.

I think Jax’s torture room segment was really about him being forced out of his protections, his shell, his walls, and all of the people he cares about laughing at the real Jax underneath— at least, the most raw version of Jax. I think he makes himself and everything around him out to be a joke so that he can laugh before anyone else does. After all, if you were never serious in the first place, it hurts WAY less to be laughed at. It doesn’t stop hurting, but it’s much easier to deflect. The peeling of his skin to show her raw silicone skeleton, all her genuine feelings, her guts and bones, all her most vulnerable parts, to be completely out of control about the perception of her by the people she cares about most is her greatest fear.
She’s fucking terrified of what her friends and family would think about the real her, the her that she deems so pathetic, so much so that she’s convinced that everyone else is a fucking idiot for being genuine. That, or they’re trying to trick her into a false sense of security so they can rip off his carefully maintained and constructed skin to reveal her underneath. Caine was literally just doing to humans what humans had done to him. Well, except for the abandonment part (he has not left the cast the fuck ALONE lol). He was, however, used, possibly tortured, and stored away in a box to never be used again (presumably and at least by his own perception). He declared “I AM GOD” because he has now been taught he can rely on no one but himself. And yet, he would never let any of his humans leave- he loves them too much for anyone’s good.
Also, notice how his eyes are red and blue, representing his original form and his metamorphized form once he combined with the other AI when consuming said AI? How his color scheme is red, but he’s ultimately the composit of both red and blue AIs and hiding it? My partner thinks Kinger only killed one of his composit AIs, and I’m willing to bet it was the red one.
He just wanted to be loved and became the joker about it <\3.
