If it’s too dark, I apologize. Photoshop always makes things look brighter than they actually are. XD I’m so glad I finally finished this. After spending most of quarantine basically doing nothing but reading updates of Beastars and this GoT/Beastars fanfic, I’m glad I got inspiration to draw stuff again. While browsing Archive of Our Own for Melon-related fanfictions out of curiosity back in June 28, I stumbled upon a Beastars fanfic set in the world of Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire… which was such a coincidence to me, as only a few days before I had been wondering what Beastars would’ve been like if it was a fantasy or set in the ASoIaF universe. XD The fanfic is called “Ashfall”, and is about our favorite young red deer Louis (heir of House Elaphus – Latin name for deer), as King’s Landing is raided by animals—both living and undead—led by the hybrid Melon, one of the most feared dark mages of the realm. To save the kingdom, Louis will have to work together with Legoshi, the grey wolf and current Kingsguard, and learn to control the untamed magical powers that run through his veins. While the writer only saw the show and never really got to read the books, it’s written in a way so it’s more of a Beastars story than a Song of Ice and Fire one, so readers don’t need to read or watch GoT/ASoIaF to understand it. This also means it can take more artistic liberties with the world and so it creates its own take on magic, which is fascinating to me and a ton of fun to read, as said by somebody who has seen the show and has read the books (still currently on Book 3: A Storm of Swords XD).
