What's Happening Over There? Fan Art
Some pieces of fanart I commissioned from @art-the-f-up for my Jentry Chau vs the Underworld / K-Pop Demon Hunters fanfic.
Since the Ao3 preview is still not working:
What's Happening Over There?
Each of these are sort of bookend images.
Telling Huntrix she's an Urban Legend
Chapter 10
Huntrix had asked Jentry to do some research and study Rumi's marks since Jentry comes from a different mythology and set of magical rules and they thought her outside perspective would help understand them more. This was one of her first meetings with them after that... and where she let on that she's an urban legend and has a bit of a reputation.
--------------
"Well, thank you for taking this seriously and continuing to look into it," Rumi said. "Is there anything we can do to help?"
"I might want to get more exposure to your sort of magic, but also... and this is a tangent, but I've been meaning to ask," Jentry said.
"Go ahead," Rumi said.
"How am I stuck being an urban legend because of something that happened when I was a child..." her energy slackened a bit as she added under her breath "...and then all the things after that..." Then her voice picked up energy again. "...and you three can punch a demon king in front of thousands and all the reports are about 'pyrotechnics accidents' and 'special effects'?"
"For one thing, you tell pretty much everyone just at the drop of a hat," Moonie noted.
Jentry turned to her exasperated. "Because as this point I'm fine with it. It's just been bugging me."
"Gwi-ma's demons mess with the mind," Rumi explained. "They'll remember us saving their lives, but they won't remember the demons exactly."
"And most people, including the people we save, will just assume they're exaggerating," Zoey said before changing her posture and imitating an enthusiastic fan, "Wow, Huntrix's music like literally saved my life, oh my god." She shrugged casually with a helpless smile. "Stuff like that."
"That was a big enough event that there's definitely people that saw everything and will remember it though," Rumi said.
"Hold on, you said you're an urban legend?" Mira asked.
Jentry's eyes rolled to the ceiling, "Demon girl of Riverfork."
Zoey's eyes widened, "Oh! There's so many videos about you. You have a subreddit and appear on all the American cryptid lists."
"Are the videos mostly by the same jittery middle-aged white guy?" Jentry asked, eyes narrowed.
"About a third of them," Zoey agreed. "He started going from conspiracy theory to hero worship at one point."
"Yeah, that hasn't been any less annoying," Jentry muttered.
First Interview as a public supernatural
Chapter 39
After the supernatural went public, Zoey decided to help Jentry get control of her image and shut down some of the people exploiting her legend for their profit. This led to Jentry's first public interview with Nerdist. For that she dressed up in the outfit she's wearing in some of the footage of her floating around the internet (including a wig instead of dying her hair back to white) and this is her getting her prepped for that.
Huntrix is going on the same stage immediately after Jentry is done.
--------------
"This happened kind of fast," Jentry said, taking a breath.
She stood there in the same outfit as her profile picture and image, a pale-blonde wig worn almost perfectly over her brown hair thanks to Mira and the Huntrix costume department. Past a small army of crew members was a small set depicting a set of chairs and a small, aesthetically pleasing glass table in what was meant to look like an office room overlooking LA.
-----
Jentry nodded and set the phone back in her pocket as Mira looked her over one more time.
"Everything looks good," Mira said as she bent over looking at the shirt. "This has seen a bit of wear though."
"Yeah, I guess I'm going to have to get a replacement somehow," Jentry said. "I've worn it in a few fights."
Mira glanced aside as one of the crew started walking over looking over a clipboard as they came up to the group. She stepped aside and moved to stand with the rest of Huntrix. The crew person looked up and smiled. "Hey there, I'm Jack. I'm going to be managing the set today. Now do you have any questions about the process?"
"No," Jentry said. "I'll be fine."
Jentry in Therapy
Chapters 48 and 49
Explanation before the pictures this time.
At the end of the fic, I had Jentry start therapy for the various situations she'd faced since she was a child. I looked for a therapist in a pop culture urban fantasy and found Linda Martin from Lucifer. The end of chapter 48 is their first session and the beginning of chapter 49 is a session about four or five years later.
Jentry at age ~16-17 at Dr. Martin's Office
Jentry at age ~20-21 at Dr. Martin's Office
--------------
Jentry sat in the middle of the couch, shoulders loose and open. Her black hair pinned back away from her face and draped down to her shoulders, a teal hair-extension forming a low ponytail down to her mid-back. She was wearing a long-sleeved silk shirt in tea green with pine green diagonal lines downward left to right and the black buttons fastened up to a high-neck collar and silk in forest green that held close to her body, but flared at her knees and ankles. Her three eyes were open with yellow irises. She wore subtle pale-green eyeshadow and light golden blush. She hadn't quite lost the baby fat yet, but she'd gained both height and breadth, hitting a balance that leaned heavily toward her mother's tall and slender build, but still touched by her father's broader shoulders and sturdier build.
"So, you have your degree," Linda said. "Congratulations."
"Thanks," Jentry said, smiling. "It's just a bachelor's. Stella's going on to law school now."
"Two bachelor's. And it's an accomplishment. You should feel proud."
"It's weird," Jentry said. "I thought this would feel like finishing something, but it feels more like I'm getting started."
"That's a common sentiment," The notebook was on the coffee table in front of her and she gestured casually toward Jentry. "And what are you getting started on?"
"For one thing," Jentry said, "I have the time to actually make the consultancy thing a real business instead of picking up the odd task from people who know me."
"On that note, you've had the money to pay your tuition without needing to do any work," Linda pointed out. "But you ended up paying for everything from those 'odd tasks' you mentioned. Was there a particular reason for that?"
Jentry shrugged and thought about it. "It felt better to earn it. I didn't want a scholarship when I already had the money and I didn't want to just sit around and be the idle trust fund kid."
For @cyptids-in-my-basement <3
I drew for another fanfic :D
I want this fanfic injected into my veins. I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT!! I have so many fanfics I want to draw and am in the middle of drawing I finally finished some! Also I finally used a reference for the second photo. References saving my life fr.
I wanted to color the second one but I didn't realize I was on the back of the first one so...there it is. Also yes I draw traditionally I can't draw digitally to save my life. I am trying though...also you can easily tell I messed up the mask in the second photo...ignore it please. Just imagine the mask isn't black.
Also for the iron Spider Suit, I just imagine the classic red and gold one. I think it looks better than the MCU version. So I just used the comic one instead. It looks more futuristic in my mind
Of course I had to add some of my theories here >:) Dick and Peter look a bit alike y'know....>;)))
(THEY ARE FATHER AND SO- *GUNSHOTS*)
AND a bit of Peter x Duke :3 They're so cute (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
@cyptids-in-my-basement I LOVE YOUR FIIICCC!! I hope you enjoy my fanart, I enjoyed drawing it! ( ˘ ³˘)♥

Ben Doyle never really let go of his fascination with the occult.
And honestly? He’s starting to think his boyfriend’s boss doesn’t do nearly enough to make sure the team comes back alive from their so-called “field trips.”
(Trips. Sure. Let’s not pretend they aren’t missions.)
Ben is so tired of watching Ty Morgan drag himself home covered in bruises, blood, and “just-fell-down-the-stairs” excuses.
So Ben does what any totally rational college student with a minor in paranormal studies would do— he summons a protection spirit.
Something to keep Ty safe when he refuses to keep himself that way.
He draws the circle, lights the candles, and chants the old words. It works. Sort of.
Because somewhere across the veil, Danny Nightshade was just eating cereal in peace— and suddenly, he’s standing in his underwear in a stranger’s living room, surrounded by candles, while some blond guy frantically waves a glowing contract at him.
Danny blinks. “Uh… is this a job interview?”

Heya! Ever wondered what would happen if Serial Designation N and SCP-1471-a met? No? Too bad!
