Prompt 17 - Beater

“I’ve finished your books,” Sirius said during Remus’s third session with him. “Can I come by and swap them out?” 

Remus ignored him for a second, wanting not to be face down on a mat while he stretched when they talked about books. 

“W-when were you thinking?” He asked, annoyed with himself that he’d stuttered, but Sirius seemed to ignore his nervousness. 

“Tonight? I can bring dinner?” Sirius suggested, and Remus felt his cheeks heat again. It was an ongoing issue whenever Sirius spoke to him and one he couldn’t figure out how to control; this never happened when he talked to anyone else. 

“Er, yeah, sure, sounds good,” he babbled, looking anywhere but at Sirius. 

“Excellent. Time to practice the egg beater.”

“I’m sorry?” Remus said, finally looking at Sirius. “I don’t think I heard you correctly.”

“Oh, but you did, my dear Remus.” Sirius grinned his Cheshire Cat grin and, holding onto the bar by the mirror, he showed Remus the stretch he wanted him to do. Remus nearly laughed as Sirius raised his right leg and began rotating his leg by his knee, forwards, backwards and to the side. 

“See, it’s like an egg beater,” Sirius tried to convince him. “It’ll help open up your hips, knees and quads so when we get into it, you’ll find it much easier.”

Remus nodded and stood opposite Sirius and lifted his leg and copied Sirius’s movements. He felt a little silly at first, wobbling a bit while Sirius stood perfectly still, but the rail helped keep him from toppling over, and soon he’d grasped the movement and found the whole thing easier. 

“Perfect, now get on that treadmill. I want to see the sweat dripping down your forehead.” Sirius grinned, getting that flash of wickedness in his eyes anytime he pushed Remus. Remus braced himself for ‘one more set’ of everything in today’s session.

~ A story about a hallucination becoming a man and a man who can finally become a woman ~

Summary: Kolt is taking it easy, staying back, playing it safe. Watcher and Gambler might be satisfied with that, but Beater is a hallucination of action. Or perhaps a man. Thing have been changing since he left Kolt behind, and he is becoming more and more real by the day. So, what does a hallucination turned man do with his life? Infiltrating and taking down a corrupt institution practicing a modern form of slavery sounds like enough excitement to get him through the month. Just wait till he learns what real pain feels like.
