Hot take: I'm not a firm believer in McLennon, but I do strongly believe that Paul was jealous that Brian hit on Pete Best and John instead of him (referring to Klaus saying Paul was seeing with jealousy about the Spain trip), and that's why he kept saying "JOHN AND I AREN'T GAY" all throughout the 80s and 90s. I wouldn't say "screaming" is accurate, but it does seem like he yelled at them and didn't really give them a chance to speak or defend themselves. Not his best look, imo.
So what do you make of all the accusations that Brian Epstein was tied to the mob? I personally don't buy it because a, anti-semitic undertones (the whole money-hungry Jew thing), b, the only person in the Beatles camp I heard saying Eppy was shady was Peter "Backstabber" Brown, and c, one of Eppy's ex-lovers (some chap named Larry) claimed that Dizz handed compromising photos of Eppy to the Kray twins and they used it as blackmail material. Idk, man. It's either really sus or just plain unlikely to me.
I don’t really make anything of them because I have no idea how fact-based they are. I mean, people in the music industry having mob ties is not exactly a novel concept, so I’m open to the idea, if people talking about it are basing it on actual source work instead of rumor and stereotypes. But until I see that, I remain in the neutral-to-skeptical camp.

there have been a few revues and semi-concert broadway/west end shows, plus Lennon in 2005 (yikes), but yeah. idk. it feels too big. if they wanted to do a traditional two act musical, they'd almost have to do a great comet type thing where they only take a smallish chunk or two of the history and focus on that.

He didn’t do anything insane or #problematique or anything like that, I just know there’s a small section of Beatles fans (Paul-favoring fans specifically) who think that he is particularly, heavily biased against Paul. There are various arguments I’ve seen for it that range from reasonable to, IMO, almost microscopic levels of nitpicking. They have their right to their opinions, but, as happens in fandom with everything, I feel like they can sometimes overtorque and he becomes Just Like Every Other Biographer, which I don’t think is right. I have my issues with YNGMYM, but for the people I’ve seen who dislike his work, it feels like every single thing he says is somehow anti-Paul. (An exaggeration but you get me.) IDK, I personally came away from YNGMYM thinking he hated all of them, lmao.

@allthingsmustgeorge he just posted a video like a half hour ago and it happened to pop up on my front page, and there was a bit in it where he reads george’s diary entry from january 10th 1969 and is like (paraphrased) “look how callous and cavalier and uncaring he was about his own marriage falling apart, he didn’t even mention it in his diary” and it pissed me off. his other videos are fine generally but also in one of the more recent ones he decided to read out some comments and put them on blast and it was a little tacky lol
