Ever since their sorting, Savannah had barely seen her brother. They were in two different houses with dorms as far apart as possible in the vast castle. They sat at two different tables at mealtimes, and their schedules were nothing alike. Savannah would admit it, she missed Beau. He drove her crazy, annoyed her to no end, and had a bad attitude, but Savannah missed even their arguments. She had been so homesick from the moment they arrived at Hogwarts, and the feeling was only getting worse over time. She hated it here and was desperate for anything that could remind her of home. Beau was home. It was as if he carried Savannah, Georgia in his very soul. Sure the siblings had their differences, but despite it all he was her family and right now she needed her family.
Savannah had been holding back for days, trying to come up with a good excuse to see her brother. He had been so distant these past few years and she doubted he would welcome her just dropping by to say hello. It was when she had received a letter from her parents expressing how worried they had been since they hadn’t heard from Beau yet this semester that Savannah had her excuse. Beau could ignore her if he wished, but refusing to write home for this long was childish, rude, and he had been raised better than that.
She had gotten up early that morning, made her way to Gryffindor tower, and waited outside of the entrance to his dormitory. He would have to come out sooner or later for breakfast and she would offer to walk with him to the great hall. Part of Savannah worried he would be angry with her, but she would welcome even his anger at this point. It hadn’t been long before she spotted the familiar blond hair and trouble-maker grin as he made his way out of the entrance to the Gryffindor common room. “Beau!” She called, attempting to grab his attention. “Hey there, stranger.”
