beautidine likes walking around the palace and the palace grounds and looking at pretty things!!! she likes going to new places and meeting new people and making friends and having nice parties and stuff!
she wants to have a fun time with her friends and do things like sleepovers and tickle fights and stuff! unfortunately she doesnt have much else going on, but i'd imagine that if television or the internet existed on monsterworld, beau would probably watch my little pony and make fanfic and fanart and just absolutely adore all of the cutesy pastel graphics and colors and be horribly traumatized by bronies
other than that shed probably like gardening and cosplaying but those dont exist either! poor beautidine
some time ago when i wanted to write things more i made a writing blog and the only thing that i really used it for was beautidine, a naive monster princess in a pretty shit monster world and besides making a few monster characters for an eagle time thread ive also put some thought into the stories general flow but i like talking about things so let me give ya'll a basic rundown of monsterworld and i can get start begging for worldbuilding wednesdays or whatever
also i should note that im still gunna do rm things im just bad feels and writing is hard ha ha
so the basic premise is that we've got five districts in this nameless monsterworld, each with their own high queen, princess, and general type of monster within
centrall district is beautidines! it has otherworldly/eldritch creatures! monsters that would be considered "aliens" things that would supposedly make your mind melt, that sort of thing lives here
eest district is where armaza, the Deuteragonist lives. her districts gimmick is general undead sorts, both corporeal and noncorporeal. zombies, ghosts, ghouls, possessed objects that sort of thing
wehst district has Cleoctra, the last real named princess i have! Wehst District is animal-like monsters, werewolves, insect people, mothman, centaurs, etc
up to nyorth district is a robot princess because all of the monsters here are inorganic mechanical things including living programs and probably monsters made out of waste or similarly "man-made" things
finally, theres soughth, which is mythical monsters like vampires, demons, angels, djinn, and cryptids, yokai, and various other monsters that wouldnt already be in the other districts
theres a lot of mixing and matching though! the world is a circle, with each of the districts melding into each other the farther away you are from the center of the District's Palace! theres a lot of fun things and the basic ~rule~ of all of the monsters is that while a lot can be distinctly humanoid, none of them are human. they may resemble humans but what would be a normally human half of a centaur is always something else and werewolves always turn into something thats just vaguely humanoid
tech and society wise its iffy and anachronistic and the districts are generally in good terms with each other but all of the high queens are sort of awful so who knows how that could change!
the general story would be about beautidine and dealing with her mother, a system that hates her, and all of the people who want her to grow up and out of her childish naive princess bs so they can use her for their own gain~~~ fun story that doesnt have any metaphors for anything in real life :)

Bueatidine loved parties! Parties were the best!!! Parties had food and sweets and her favorite, FRIENDS! And friends meant talking and gossip and laughing and she loved parties, she loved her friends, and she adored traveling outside of the Centrall District.
Beautidine was so excited that she just had to go over the details. Firstly, there was the locale. So far it seemed that their destination would be the Eest District, where Armaza lived, which wasn't the most optimal party place, but it was still pretty nice. Even if something about the atmosphere made her feel off, overall it wasn't really any better or worse than any of the other districts! The second thing she thought about was the exclusive guest list. As per the usual parties, it would likely be the five current princesses of the Phive Districts, well, except for one. The Sougthern District Princess had her... thing, that kept her indisposed, but Armaza would obviously be there and so would Espy! Beautidine was so excited to see Espy.
As Beautidine was about to start vibrating with excitement, a subject arrived and informed her that they had arrived. She was almost to the party!!! She really was looking forward to it, especially after the last one, which... which didn't end very well. But she was sure it wouldn't end that way, and that it would be amazing.
As she walked through the green and blue tinted halls of the Eest Palace, filled with the portraits of rulers past and various heirlooms on pedestals, encased in glass, Beautidine once more recalled the drab and empty halls of her own home. Why did the Eest have such a large focus on the past, wasn't there a reason? Beautidine noticed that she was lagging behind the subject leading her to the party, so she picked up the pace, leaving her thoughts behind.
"Heeeeeello~~~<3!"
When she heard Beautidine barge into the common room, Armaza was trying to meditate and focus on her thoughts, which to the bubbly princess looked like she was just sort of sitting there and doing nothing. Armaza held back a cringe, stood up, and gave a weak wave of hello to her fellow princess.
"Hiiiiii Armaza, how are you???"
Armaza was fine. While she felt the usual confusion and discomfort from whatever Beautidine was doing with her voice, she was otherwise happy to socialize with someone from outside the Eest, even if they weren't the best to converse with. She was dressed in something a bit more formal than her normal, drab clothes, but didn't bother with rearranging her face away from the default, neutral expression with flesh hanging here and there.
"I'm sooooo glad to see you!!! It's been toooo long... Huuuuuugg~<3"
At least, Armaza mused, Beautidine had learned that she didn't like hugs. As Armaza gave out a weak, but pleasant "Huuug" in reply, the third guest entered the room.
"Oh lovelies, I hope that you haven't waited for me too long."
Armaza and Beautidine swirled their heads towards the rooms newest arrival, the insectoid Wehst District princess, Cleoctra, waving one of her two upper spiked forelimbs and outfitted in the most elegant regalia the Wehst had to offer. Armaza was glad for her lack of facial expression, as she wouldn't be able to hide the disgust she felt for her many legged peer. While Beautidine was a bit on the annoying side, it wasn't like she meant to be, and Armaza didn't like the idea of just writing someone off just because they needed to grow up a little.
"Oh Beau, I'm so glad you made it, I thought that after the last party you'd avoid us all for at least a year, you are SO brave. An inspiration to us all, you know I was telling Acey just before she tried to spit poison at me about how much of a fool you made yourself there, glad to see you bounced back so fast."
"Ooo... ooooH! Thank you... Hehe~"
Beautidine honestly was unaware of how Armaza felt, and if she knew, she would just be upset, and Armaza didn't want that, for more reasons than one. Cleoctra's problem, on the other hand, was that she knew exactly what she was doing, and she was really good at it too.
"Soooo... it looks like we are almost alllll here, then the fun can really begin!!! Yay! :>"
"Hmmm, didn't you hear? Oh, I guess you were probably busy because of having to fend off all your siblings, oh no wait, I had to do that, and I still knew that Epsy wasn't going to make it."
"Wh...what???" Beautidine sounded upset, which made Cleoctra happy, especially when looking at the static and smiling face. The insectoid's mouth widened and she put one of her lower, harmless forelimbs around her pink peer.
"Mmm, yes, I'm not sure on the details but this is going to be everyone in attendance, I know... rumors though. I don't know if I should share though..."
"Oh come on, Cleoctra, it isn't that big of a secret what happened to Espy."
"I suppose so, bu-"
"What's going on with Epsy?!?!?! .... is she ok? She's okay right!? Right!?!?!?"
There was a temporary silence as Beautidine looked expectantly at the two other princesses and the two princesses realized that Beautidine was starting to get close to crying. In addition to this realization, Armaza noticed that she was starting to feel more and more sorry for Beautidine, a natural reaction to the pheromones that Beautidine released. Cleoctra of course, was immune to them, and was relishing in the despair, but neither princess wanted Beautidine to cry.
"Espy got in trouble. She is... grounded." It was an understatement, but any more details on what happened to the Nyorth District's princess would likely lead to the tears that Armaza was desperate to avoid.
"Oh......"
Beautidine sagged, ruining her pretty and proper look and while it didn't seem like she would cry, she did sound like she was going to sulk for a bit. Armaza grabbed Cleoctra by the limb and dragged her to the other corner of the room.
"Why do you insist on torturing someone so defenseless?"
"Oh come now Arma, you and I both know that she needs to grow up. She is supposed to be the future Centrall District High Queen! Have you seen her mother?"
Cleoctra stopped speaking for a bit as she reclined her head and began to imagine Beautidine's mother. The way that she moved in the shadows with no regard to others, the way that she emoted in the red tint of her blood, how she didn't need any fancy glands or limbs to tear her enemies into pieces, how in the world did someone so powerful, so destructive, so almighty, birth a Beautidine?
Armaza snapped her fingers at the insectoid princess, "Stop fantasizing about Beautidine's mother, you'll get your drool on the carpet."
"Well, excuse me, I'll have you know that it isn't drool, what do you take me for? A mammalian? It i-"
"It doesn't matter, the point is tha-"
"Sooooooooooooooooooooo~~~... what are you guys talking about? :>"
Beautidine had apparently finished her sulk and immediately made her way to her friends, as the last thing she wanted to be at a party was alone, or sad, or god forbid alone AND sad. While her eye was not as wide as it was at the start of the party, it, along with the rest of her body, went back up to a decent level of perky.
Cleoctra wasted no time in her response.
"Oh you know, the ususal, your mother, Beau, and how amazing she is! She's soooo amazing! I don't know how she does everything she does and deal with your antics. I bet you wish you could be more like her, right?"
"Well..." Beautidine looked towards, but away from Cleoctra and sagged a tiny bit at the thought of her mother.
"She certainly iiiiiiiiiis something."
"She is. If I had her as a mother I would be ecstatic! I'd try to learn everything that I could and follow in her footsteps to be just as amazing as she is, uh, oh, not to say that there's anything wrong with not doing that, that's just what I would do, being different is okay!"
"Yeah... I know! Uhm... so how have you all been though? It has been a while and I would just loooove to hear about what you've all been up to!!!"
Armaza knew that this couldn't lead to a fun time, or at least not the fun sort of time that Beautidine wanted. Anything that she would say would probably just depress her, and Cleoctra would make sure to weaponize all of her stories for the best reactions.
Beautidine didn't have any worries, these were her friends right? They weren't her best friend, like Espy, but they were still her friends and they would forgive her little sulk and be sure to share nice things! This was going to be a great party and they were going to have great fun! She. Was. Sure. Of. It.
Cleoctra was wondering which story would make Beautidine sad without crying. There was her brutal mutilation of her cousins last week. But the day that one of her sisters tried to knife her was pretty good too, the sister tried interesting things and it was a decent effort. Cleoctra had it down to three stories, with her mouth starting to widen, when Armaza said, "Wait!"
The last minute effort to stop Clecotra from sharing one of her awful stories was one of Armaza's less well thought out plans. As the three princesses awkwardly stared at each other, Armaza tried very hard say something, anything, that could potentially entertain the three of them.
"Uhm. Well. If that's all you have to say then I guess I'll..."
Armaza, running out of ideas, decided that another quick, thoughtless action would be better than no action at all. As Cleoctra was about to begin her story, the Eestern Princess slammed a hidden button, causing one of the many trap doors of the Eest District Palace to open below them.
As the three princesses fell into the darkness below, Armaza thought that maybe there could have been a better way to deal with the situation.
i said i'd parse down the thing i posted the other day so here we go
Beautidine's world of monsters has five districts, Centrall (where she lives), Nyorth, Eest, Wehst, and Sougth. Other than Centrall, which is a melting pot of sorts, has more or less everything else distilled, each of the districts has its own subset of monsters along with an odd royal family gimmick.
So that brings us to Armaza, Princess of the Eest District. She is the only princess who, instead of keeping Beau as a neutral acquaintance, flat out hates the lovely wanna-be princess. There are a few reasons for this, a lot of it is personality conflicts, but something that doesn't help in the slightest is what happens when an Eest Princess becomes an Eest High Queen. You see, their right arm's flesh decomposes leaving the lucky ruler with a Skeletal Arm that holds the spirits of all of her ancestors. This is one reason why, despite being more than capable of the task, Armaza hasn't killed her mother yet. She really doesn't want to get a bunch of old crones all up in her head telling her what to do!
Armaza also hates Beau because deep down, she feels like Beau and her could have done something to make this sort of messed up system of succession less messed up? Armaza doesn't want to risk getting tainted by a bunch of her ancestors and she doesn't really want to keep up this cycle of violence, and she feels like, if Beau wasn't so focused on her very incompatible world-view, Beau would agree with her, and help her. That said, Armaza doesn't really confide in a lot of people. She thinks about it, but she always decides that no, it is better to Not, or No, they might betray me. It isn't ideal, but she feels like she has to if she wants to make Change happen, which she's super determined to try.
Physically, she, like most Eest residents, are equivalent to what we would call an undead monster. The real creature that is Armaza is an animated skeleton, mostly humanish, although there are some bits that aren't quite the same. All of the different bones can move in any direction with all of the flexibility ever. Her skeleton body is covered up by another, fleshy, patchworky body with stich-like markings. The flesh can be removed up to a point, but at least some of it has to stay connected to her or else it will hurt a lot. The end result is that she's super lanky and that you can only barely tell that she's got flesh at all. Which is probably why she wears a bandanna on her head and clothes, although if you asked her she'd probably say because it is practical.
She's smart and ambitious, and is trying to make a solid plan to get what she wants, but she's honestly afraid of what the future holds and is trying her best to make sure she is in charge of it.
im going to make a less brainstormy version of this later but here it is if you want to see me just make a character blindly
wso for pokemon y im going to play as Beautidine going on a super great pokemon adventure so i thought a bit about other princesses because rivals
so the way that Centrall District's hierarchy is means that theres only ever one princess and one queen and one of the other District Princess really envy's that scenario because 1) she's already stronger than her parentage 2) her family has a weird sort of immortality where they die but get to harass their progeny for generations and generations to come! HOW FUN! She feels Eest.
what this means is that i guess all five Districts (Centrall, Eest, Wehst, Sougth, and Nyorth) have weirdy succession systems or other things added on to them! the central rule of succession though is still that the child kills the current ruler so this is going to be fun to think about~
so Princess Eest, is PROBABLY the only one who outright hates Beau for being so weak despite her Pretty Easy Situation (as /she/ had to not only outpower her mother, but also outsmart GENERATIONS of rulers)
Eest is probablymostly full undead types of creatures in that case. lets see lets see

so she's a lot of things that beau isn't cunning, smart, ambitious, and in a lot of ways she's similar in that they both more or less want to escape this whole cycle of violence that their society insists on? like when you get down to it the point of beau is that at one point she's going to have to grow up and face the fact that either she dies, tries to change the way things are, or accepts it and kills her mom and follow her legacy. this princess has already done the growing up and wants to change how things are and she hates beau because if she wasnt so childish she /could/ do something?? and because of the ancestor thing, anything that /she/ tries to do will be tainted by a bunch of thoughts that arent hers.
so this means that she has a skeleton so she's probably some sort of carcass of flesh that just moves and doesnt make any biological sense. she's probably human shaped but is probably a bit gooey and maybe since there isnt really a biological system behind it her flesh is super flexible and malleable?
oh i've got it, she's technically an animated skeleton but she has flesh all over her, so the flesh can move however the skeleton can, which is basically wherever, and some of the flesh can come off and stuff. this means that she doesnt have eyes or ears or hair, her head is just a bunch of flesh although she wears a bandanna on her head and clothes because she feels better with them (although she says that this is more PRACTICAL, which is only really true for the shoes). she's probably green and blue mostly, probably both, in patches. super lanky obviously.
now she just needs a name... *types skeleton into google translate. clicks spanish. oh oh yeah*

"Arma" means weapon which is what she sort of wants to be, a weapon for change and armazón is skeleton as in a frame so yeah!!!!
I'm going to answer the job one first; she couldn't TRY to get another job really. Monsters have very little choice in their future in Centrall, they do what they can do best and how much they want to doesn't matter as much! If you are a monster who is suited to doing strong man things that is what you are going to do! By that logic the best thing for her would be... a maid...
Beautidine doesn't have a father, she only has her mother, the Centrall High Queen, who rules with an iron fist and is very okay with the what her daughter is doing. In her opinion living is well worth the embarrassment the other High Queens give her, but... she does half-heartedly wish that the eventual fight with her would be a challenge and she does purposely send her to more dangerous countries, but at the end of the day she's just waiting for beau to die so she can just spawn another child who will hopefully keep the matricide game fresh and not stagnant. The High Queen is enjoying what free time she has.
IF SHE HAD NORMAL PARENTS THOUGH, they would probably worry a little because while I don't have Beau set to a normal human age, it would probably be around whichever teen years the princess and doll stuff starts to be looked down on?
Beautidine doesn't really have any normal friends, no. Most of the regular staff in the castle enjoy her presence, and like her as she is and don't really want to crush her world-view, but that also means that they just listen to what she says and help her out on some things, they don't really talk about their lives or give heavy opinions, (not even in a 'if i may say'), so they don't really give a lot in that direction.
Teaching and noble-r staff is A Lot worse and they are the ones who try to take advantage of her condition for politics. They act super nice to her but they are basically all unilaterally shit. They don't care about her or her dreams and all they do is trick her or tolerate her or just let her do whatever. Sometimes they bring their kids to play with her.
Anyone her age enjoys her presence, for the most part, but because of her mother and the reason why they are there they don't really share much or do anything other than act as faithful companions to her. None of them really like their situation, even if Beau makes them feel a bit more comfortable than they would otherwise, but they can't/don't feel like doing anything to the situation.
Other District Princesses usually include her like they would any other but they aren't really friends in any sense? They are all really just trying to find weak parts in each other and who is the strongest and weakest so they Know when their time comes and stuff. For the most part though, they never really do anything /bad/ to her.
So yea, Beau doesn't really have any friends or anyone like that! Poor girl.
Okay so she eats but eating is weird and not all the same for monsters. The way that Beautidine eats is that she grabs something with her tentacles and pulls it into the opening on the back of her body where all of the appendages come out of.
She doesn't have a sense of taste and that is a General District Princess thing, although that doesn't stop her from only eating Nice Things, which is okay because District Princesses and High Queens don't eat any of the tasteless nutrient paste or whatever that most of the populi gets, taste buds or no taste buds.
Yes, Beautidine can can walk on walls and ceilings and cling to them but that is not the majority! Her room is specifically made difficult to get to though, along with a few other places around her home.
Most buildings look kind of normal though? Like some are adjusted to match the different sizes or lack of arms but other than that you've got pretty humany buildings, dependent on which district you live in. The Centrall District is a pretty boring and dark looking cityscape with skyscrapers and the dark and foreboding Centrall Palace at the very center. There are slums and all kinds of bad things everywhere and monsters don't have a great time.
But she never really leaves the palace except to go to another district so she doesn't know!
She doesn't really have any powers that other District Princesses don't have.
I'M GOING TO USE THIS AS A SPRINGBOARD FOR TALKING ABOUT WHAT THAT IS.
This consists of her tentacle things being able to do whatever they want in terms of stretching and moving and such, her footie appendages being able to move however they want, and the substance they emit that allows them to alter the general public monsters' emotions to think favorably of her.
The substance thing is either across all District Princesses or just to the Centrall District Princesses? Either way Beautidine doesn't really purposely urge other people to like her that's just what (at least) her family does. While the limits of intelligence and proximity are the same, all across the board, Beau's abnormal in that she has more limits, her thing is weaker if there is someone who has a Seriously Different tone/set of mind, like if they were someone Bad or someone really depressive who just wouldn't work with her saccharine view of the world. The upside of this though is that if you don't fall into that it is a lot easier for you to 'get' what she means because of how the control thing works.
But there isn't really anything special super about her, just abnormal.
