It’s safe to say that this is one of the few mundane, extraordinary events that remind not just me, but a lot of people as well, to pause and take a few moments to simply revel in this beauty whenever I chanced upon it. As the sun begins to disappear over the horizon, many of us could only try to capture the magic of the moment. There are really no words that could ever really describe, or photos that could ever really capture, the true beauty of a sunset. What I, and you, can do at the very least is complement that beauty by articulating the wonder it radiates—either through weaving of words or photographing the fleeting magic. But more than anything else, it’s always a good thing to remind ourselves that with all of the challenges head on us during these Stephen King-Like Days, sunset remains as one of the many beautiful things that we can turn to for comfort or relief. And like I always say, we don’t need to travel far from the base to get an Instagrammable view of it. Gazing at it actually is what primarily counts—when we are in the moment with it. (Nothing beats the real thing.)
