Perhaps other countries are better at keeping police corruption quiet.
No, there is just less of it and its less severe. Some countries may keep it from the press, though.
In general most of the time I respect the cops here, and they do a good job at protecting and serving most of the time. There are examples of police brutality like at the G20 protest in Toronto, but by and large they're doing what cops should be doing.
I keep track of canadian news, and its rare; very rare when cops go rogue or brutally hurt or kill innocents. They may turn a blind eye to concerns of people, like the native population but no corruption on the scale of ferguson or killing of unarmed black people like is seen in the US.
The only couple examples I can think of really bad behaviour that hit the news is the G20 protests and the unprovoked tasering of the polish guy at an airport (he died).
