CLOSED STARTER WITH @jamspctter
where: main bar at east india house when: the solstice ball
Edgar was having a jolly time with his mates, Gus had disappeared and suddenly Sersh was off somewhere too and he found himself alone at the main bar for a moment. Looking to his right, he spotted a familiar face that caused him to blush. After about a minute or two arguing with himself if he should say hello he smoothly slid down the bar till he was standing next tot James Potter. “uh – hey.” Is what he could manage. The two of them had been pretty drunk when they had kissed at the Yule Ball and whilst it wasn’t the worst kiss in the world it definitely was an awkward one and a conversation with James afterwards explaining that that’s simply not how he felt about Edgar was just as odd. Edgar just wanted to make things right, friendly again between them without this awkward feeling chasing them for the rest of their lives. “You here with the lads?”
oh im being forced 2 learn french & not really enjoying it do u have any tips for making it less shit
deepl is a really great translator, bonpatron and word reference are pretty good for grammar checking and spelling for whole sentences which provides context and not just the singular word, and games and songs in french actually helped me a lot when i was learning it growing up! depending on the level of school ur in, university bookstores often offer quick reference guides for grammar, and lots of places online offer like cheat sheets and tips and tricks. TV5 Monde and FrancoLab are also pretty good. Based on what kind of french ur learning, IciTouTV has lots of québécois shows with subtitles too!! Bescherelles r also really great for grammar memorizing and references
cheatsheet for french masterlist
French can suck shit as a language when ur first learning it, but immersing yourself in the culture helps bc it makes it fun. listen to stromae, watch french programming with subtitles, google french tourist destinations and try and read their pages, listen to french grammar podcasts, read the french side of the cereal box at breakfast, and dont be afraid to do any of this at a lower level (like looking up younger grades worksheets) or a slower pace, ive been learning french for 13 years and i still use all of these resources!
Redesigned british colonial flags. Posting daily in alphabetical order. Day 20 Hong Kong
from /r/vexillology Top comment: I'd prefer not to have the flower in our new Hong Kong flag, cuz it represents the Chinese rule over the city which has been going for the worse recently.
