Nugu GG of the week #43 : BeBe Mignon (part 1)
Let's see, what do you think of when I say "Happy face Entertainment" 🤔 you're either thinking "Ummm what" or "Dal Shabet" obviously or maybe even "Dreamcatcher/Minx" because the company has since changed their name. These are all valid answers however before all these 2 queens debuted this company had another GG, that were so painfully nugu aka BeBe Mignon, idk why that's their name so we'll just have to accept that I guess. They debuted in 2010, with the digital single "Even Though I'm Small and Not Pretty", a very nice ballad. Some great strings and moving melody. Solid vocals for sure.
The group consists of 3 members : Hae Geum, Ben and Gaeul. Spoiler alert but after their disbandment Gaeul joins FlaShe!!! A nugu GG I talked about in a previous week!!
So yeah nice ballad!!

Ben, formerly a member of Bebe Mignon (y'all still streaming Even though I'm small and not pretty?), has comeback with a new digital single, very pretty ballad, I believe she is also recently divorced so 👀 perhaps the song is very meaningful to her.
Nugu GG of the Week #44 : BeBe Mignon (part 2)
Shortly after their debut they came back with their first mini album and lead ballad single "I've Only Been Nice To You". Again great vocals, nice melody, love the instrumentation. The album has 6 tracks, or really 3 songs plus the instrumentals. It includes the new single, their debut song and some other song called Stupid Oppa which I don't care for 😔
They disbanded in either late 2011 or early 2012. They released a Xmas song I guess and also... 💀 Did some plagiarism (???) Or maybe they legally sampled idk really, with their cutesy release Doobe Dooba, it's a nice song but it's either plagiarized or idk... Gkgkgkgk
Listen people defended them and well considering the DIA/Tinashe situation in recent years I'm just concerned that fans were just lying to defend or maybe Happy Face did everything right I honestly don't know it's hard to look info on nugu groups from 2011 👀
If you ask me they should've stayed in the ballad territory!!! Let's move on!!!
After disbandment, Gaeul went to redebut in FlaShe in 2012 only to leave soon after and has since retired. Hae Geum kinda had a brief solo career (??) But idk really. However Ben (not sure why that was her stage name but whatever) signed to a new company that eventually debuted everyone's favorite recent-ish nugu Bling Bling girl group and was a soloist! She was busy!
I don't heavily follow her music I know a few songs but it's nice she's had a great career for herself, she just had a child this year actually!! So congrats to her!

Bebe Mignon (베베 미뇽) was a group under YWHO Enterprise. The vocal trio featured: Ben (벤), Haegeum (해금) and Ga Eul (가을). They where initially marketed as the female version of 4Men. ‘Even Tough I’m small and Not Pretty’ was their first single, they only had two more releases before disbanding in 2011.
