I’m currently rewatching the Death in Paradise episodes with Neville in them. And I really dislike how Catherine treats him. Like, she gets frequently annoyed that he doesn’t like island food, despite going out of her way in previous episodes to make Richard a great cup of tea, no questions asked. She also orders him a Rum and Coke in one episode despite him asking Florence to grab him a Coke so he can stay focused. This causes a bad reaction to his antihistamines, which she had to know he took because Neville’s allergic to everything. This bad reaction essentially ruins a game night that he put together for charity! Yes, there are some good moments in their relationship, but overall, Catherine, who’s been shown in the past to have a lot of patience and understanding for the past DI’s, seems to not have that for Neville.
