Probably going to be controversial but I’m saying this anyway… I find it personally difficult to really get into The Stolen Heir. Why?
Because no matter how much action or dialog I read, my brain still sees a 9-year-old kid and a 10-year-old kid. No amount of rumored personality traits or courtly manners or flashbacks to mortal families is making me “see” the passage of time.
I’m 70% of the way through this book and I am struggling because the plot is [redacted] and there isn’t enough development for me to move forward a decade or even FEEL like these kids have grown in any way from who they once were into these young adults.
