I scrolled through Tumblr for a tiny break from work and saw another post that took the words "soul mate" at English face value. And so I exited tumblr. But then decided I wanted to come back and drop this thought.

I don't actually mind soul mate as a translation... But I never really expected to find a romantic relationship with a zhiji. I think my husband often surprises me with how well he knows me. I think we're compatible. But the yearning to be loved romantically and the yearning to be seen and known are so separate in my heart and seeing them smashed together due to something lost in translation just sits funny in my brain...

Anyway... That's all. I'm not saying it's wrong. Just how things sit with me. :)

Sometimes I'll be doing random stuff and remember out of nowhere that you speak Spanish and I get so happy by it. I just love having a Spanish speaking mutual here (even if we mostly talk in English)
