AU where WWX is transfem and "he" disappears for 13 years to transition into Mo Xuanyu. (not sure if that can be a femenine name as well but let's pretend)

So much potential for delicious angst and drama!!

WWX is the ultimate frat boy so imagine if "his" hyper masculine traits like being loud, flirty, a heavy-drinker party guy, good at sports, good at fighting, etc., was just performative overcompensation.

Imagine the internal conflict because "Wei Ying" is both her deadname and the only thing "his" parents left her. (Though I don't know Chinese, maybe Ying works equally well as a girl name?)

Lan Zhan having his own dramatic journey from grappling with the fact he might not be straight, coming to terms with it, then finding out his "Wei Ying" was a woman all along. While believing her disappeared/dead for a decade, to boot.

Jiang Cheng being an asshole about it because he couldn't help internalizing the sexist/homophobic/transphobic ideas of his environment and feel "betrayed" by his brother being actually a sister. In this AU he gets better but not without kicking and screaming all the way.

Nie Huaisang being the one to clock WWX from day one.

Both Lan Zhan and Mo Xuanyu could be working for the same organization helping LGBTQ+ youth, so that's where the juniors could fit in.

Yet again, I am currently too busy, overwhelmed, and exhausted to write this but I'll save it here for future reference.
