Don't mind me, I'm just screaming into the void before I combust in anxiety.
At eork, I've been assigned two new classes because the former teacher in charge of that subject quit before he could be fired (he...was not cut out for the job) which is fine EXCEPT...
at the end of the semester, students of that class are supposed to present a short film made by themselves, in an event for friends and family that has awards and all that jazz. Since my school is kinda small, it's usually a small, more symbolic affair.
Not to my predecessor, he had the habit of shooting way too high and then not delivering. I've just been told today that he contacted friends an acquaintances to come and be the judge panel. Professional filmmakers and videographers from NY, Delhi, and Ontario will be coming to our small low-budget event in our small Mexican town, so now the event needs to be elevated to their level. The main issues:
- Both classes will need to cooperate so we can make one big event, but the groups have petty beef woth each other
- The money for this will have to come from the students' pockets because the school admins are cheapskates that once wanted to charge students an electricity fee because they dared to have their own small coffee machine in the classroom (???) so there's no way they're shelling out money for this
- However, they're pretty much demanding we deliver a nice event to promote the school.
- these two groups are infamous for being lazy, conflictive, and looking for any excuse to skip class or leave early
- I have zero experience, contacts, notoriety or credentials that could help me. No friends in adequate places or anything
-I also have never organized any event
I feel like I'm drowning. If this goes wrong in any aspect, my professional reputation will suffer, I might get fired and struggle finding work in my field, I don't know what to do, I don't feel ready, I want to cry, quit, dig myself into a hole and dieeeee
On top of that, my partner just quit his job, so I can't afford to be fired rn.
