The argent-haired woman peered across the room, gift in hand. She knew not what her recipient looked like, but she knew his name. A steady gaze rested upon a boy with similarly pale hair. Taking smooth strides towards him, she asked but a single question, with vague justification.

The Chief slides into her chair from the edge of her short length desk. Somewhat hesitant, she picks up the phone.

Light had almost stepped on what could have been one of the most painful experiences of his life. At the last second he looked down, and avoided the toys that were sort of scattered around the individual.

“You---- should move those,” he utters, and masks his annoyance. But truly, who leaves that many toys laying around? Granted, he could also see the other had created something rather impressive. That’s not the point right now.

Okay, so I don’t know much about this kid. Even his fucking name is a mystery to me; all I know is that he goes by Near. That alone adds a sort of threatening aura, right? I mean, why go under a pseudonym unless you’re hiding some dark secret?

It’s only when you actually meet the kid in person that you can really consider your options. He appears frail physically, doesn’t he? He looks like he could tip over if you so much as poked him, right?

Take note, though; Near is smart. Like, Sherlock Holmes probably looks like a preschool student compared to this kid. Say you were somehow convinced into playing chess with him (you poor soul). You may think you’ll be one step ahead of the little fucker, but in reality he’ll be five steps ahead of you and have several backup plans in place. He’s that good.

Of course, he is a smol. He may kick your ass in a battle of wits, but you could just as easily kick his ass if it ever came down to punches.

TLDR: Unless your name happens to be Light Yagami, I don’t see why not.

Never go up against a Sicilian Near when death is on the line.
