Okay, so I might not have needed to include ALL the photos of this design, but I did it anyway for emphasis because SCIENCE IS REAL.
This RESIST t-shirt is from Blackbird Supply Co and uses the chemical symbols for Rhenium and Sulfur to help spell out the word “resist” - similar to this sign from the Women’s March. It accurately represents our feelings about the current political climate (in all ways) but especially as it speaks to science. The shirt is available in as a blue unisex tee and a green womens tee. Sales will also support the Union of Concerned Scientists.
From the Blackbird Supply Co website:
We RESIST any attempt to suppress scientific data for political gain. Climate change is real. The facts are not up for debate and should be available for all to see. Time is running out. The Earth is counting on us and we won't let her down.
10% of each sale will be donated to Earth Justice and the Union of Concerned Scientists.
If you’re wondering what science has to do with politics, the answer is everything. Here’s what Carl Sagan said back in 1996 on “Talk of the Nation”:
That kind of skeptical, questioning, "don't accept what authority tells you" attitude of science — is also nearly identical to the attitude of mind necessary for a functioning democracy. Science and democracy have very consonant values and approaches, and I don't think you can have one without the other.
