Update - REBECCA DOWDESWELL

We have created our music video, digipak and advertisement within the deadline, which has all been finalised and uploaded. After this we conducted research within the group to ask around the public asking them questions regarding our coursework. We asked a varied range of people these questions (which have been uploaded also onto the blog) around the same age range however different genders within different groups. Myself and Lucy asked the questions to the public with Megan recording what was said. Lucy and Megan uploaded the footage onto the computers to turn the voice recordings into a video to present them. 

The feedback of the music video as a whole was fairly positive and there only appeared to be a few negatives which could have been used to help our work. Overall, we have had a good outcome regarding feedback.

Advertisement analysis - REBECCA DOWDESWELL

We related our advertisement to our digipak and went for the same theme and colour scheme. I also conducted much research on advertisements to gain inspiration for our own. We decided to go with 'Billboard Magazine' for our advertisement as the target audience is what we wanted to capture which is based around teenagers - young adults. We decided not to add our actual digipak into the advertisement as it looked too bulky and within the advertisements we saw within the billboard magazine, none of which included the digipak however a photographic image of the artist. The colour scheme is similar to the digipak as it only contains black and white colours to keep the basic, artistic, futuristic feeling.

DIGIPAK Analysis - REBECCA DOWDESWELL

It was crucial that we created a digipak alongside our music video. This is to place the CD in and also promote the single and musician. We conducted a fair amount of research on a broad range of digipak's before producing our own - this is to influence and inspire us for ideas.  We decided to go with a basic black and white theme despite at the start wanting to go for a 'colourful, artistic feel'. We decided to go black and white as even though it is basic, it still looks classy and refined. We added a few photographic images within the digipak so the audience has an insight of what the artist looks like before purchasing the single. We also decided to go for a sightly artistic theme with use of patterned images - We were influenced by 'Kanye West & Jay Z's album 'WTT'. 

Overall, on the basis of it being a black and white colour scheme, we decided to do a base colour of white on one side and black on the other, this is to create a 'heaven and hell' theme which is to perhaps symbolise Fergie's star persona as a bit 'Cheeky'. We done this in a subtle way as we did not want the digipak to be 'in your face' and 'tacky' however it stands out.

Update - Lucy Simpson & Becca Dowdeswell

Due to the mishaps that we have faced during the making of our music video, we are now finally got ourselves back on track after completing the filming and editing of our music video. The filming of the music video as a whole was very difficult as myself (Lucy) and Becca had to film the full footage for our coursework primarily by ourselves. This proved to be very difficult as it meant that we had to try and do everything all at once, such as, the lighting, background footage/images, filming, acting & directing between the two of us. However, despite this we have successfully filmed everything, in just the right time for uploading and transporting.

After facing our issues before the holidays regarding the filming, on the first lesson we decided to film cuts for our music video. We decided a video concept over the holidays which is similar to our original plan however just some adjustments. We have completed parts of our filming however we are still need to film more for extra cuts.

Final Plan Change - REBECCA DOWDESWELL

After the absences of many group members on occasions we was given an extended deadline. After our time back we are going to discuss and sort out our final plan, as we are going to be very short on time we are going to have to create a timetable of our activities to space time correctly. We are going to have to drop plans to film in our own personal time, but it is something as a team we are all willing to do to create a final piece we are pleased with. Over the holidays we have planned on blogging towards our project so we are certain on what we have done and what we need to do also.
