All of you are way too sweet! Thanks so much for your lovely words. I'm blushing...
i was scared to try this on because of the color, i though i would be too pale/pink for it.
Hey! I just saw that Ask about you getting dreads and I totally agree... You would look awesome with dreads! They are a big commitment but I am here to tell you that you can brush your dreads out with zero damage to your original hair. I did it a couple months ago - I was tired of my first set of dreads so I combed them all out and my hair was in perf condition.
Ahh thank you! Buuuut I kind of feel like with the way my hair is there’s actually no way I’d be able to brush them out aha. My natural hair is extremely curly, and I have a really really hard (and painful) time brushing my curls out before I wash or straighten my hair. It would probably hurt ten times more and take ten years lmao.
beckyangelix replied to your photo:You are so, so beautiful.
Awhhakrjklejrklawe; Thank you! c;
I ACTUALLY DIED BECAUSE I JUST REALIZED YOU DIDN'T JUST TYPE POUTINE TO ME FOR NO REASON YOU WANTED ME TO ANSWER THE THINGS. OH MY GOODNESS. SO AMAZING.
Becky is the #1 ridiculous man.
So I've been dying to get dreads. Do I really have to shave my head when I'm ready to part ways with them? Is it true that they get really heavy? Specially when wet? ughhh Such a beautiful hair procedure but everyone is discouraging me from doing it.
No! Not at all! Here are a few examples of how you can remove your dreadlocks simply by combing them out (you can check out this page too for additional info) and in addition have your hair in PERFECT condition.
This is Becky, she had her dreads for about a year+
And now
This is Ruby, she had her dreads for 3 years
And now~
So whoever told you that you have to shave your head, is lying.
And I have a total of 52 dreads, all of which are about the length slightly below my ribs, and they do get a teensy heavy, but not so much that it bothers me. It's slightly heavy when it's up in a bun, but not too noticably. And i have a LOT of hair. Although yes, when they're wet, they are a little heavy, but once you squeeze all the water out and blow dry it, you're good :)
So, of course the choice is yours, but I'm telling you, the only slight disadvantage of dreads is that you have to wait a long time for them to mature. But that's all part of the journey!
Good luck and feel free to ask if you have any other questions :]
