Have you ever posted a full picture of your patch jacket?? I absolutely adore your art and the idea of a piece of clothing covered in it intrigues me !!!!

I haven't!! Thanks for asking, here it is:

It started as a reversible batik robe-type jacket that I got from an estate sale for $2. Then, since it's just thin cotton layers, it began to fall apart and fray and snag on wire on the farm, so I started sewing it back together and patching it. Eventually that led to a rekindling of my interest in visible mending and clothing alteration. I started sewing my own printed patches on just for fun. Then I got patches from other artists through buying or trades. The crossstitch wolf came from the thrift. The big back patch is a sublimation printed tapestry that I ordered as merch that *sucked ass* so I just kept them lol. And now I'm armed with a bedazzler and actual sewing machine. It'll be interesting to see how the jacket evolves over time. It goes under the needle every now and again, for 10-30 minute stints usually, while we're watching YouTube in the evening.

Thanks for asking to see it! I love my silly coat. It's starting to function as a shield against corporate-types and religious fundamentalists, so it's also a functional art piece.

I hope y’all had a gentle holiday season, with at least one good meal, one warm drink, and ideally no existential dread lasting longer than a few hours. As a late seasonal offering (because time is fake and so are deadlines), I’m very happy to bring you this new fic! A hefty one-shot that’s 30K words long (there are small breaks throughout the whole thing that could easily have been turned into chapters, but the prompt was to write a one-shot, so sssshhh 👀).

This fic exists because of a joke that got a bit out of hand.

A while back, in @klikandtuna‘s Discord server, someone shared a Hallmark-plot–generating website. You know the kind: every plot is pulled from an actual Hallmark movie, and every single one sounds both deeply cursed and irresistibly writeable. We all generated a plot, laughed about it… and then collectively decided that each of us had to actually write a fanfic based on the result (all in good fun, with no other restrictions or deadlines).

This story is the first completed fic of that challenge, and will be part of a collection where each author tackles their own Hallmark plot and turns it into something lovingly unhinged. Or just lovely. Or just unhinged. It’s a whole spectrum.

This was the plot I got:

“With a case of writer’s block, Crowley, a children’s author, escapes to small town Mitford for a change of scenery. He soon finds the heart and soul of the town in Aziraphale, a priest, as they work together to care for a young boy who’s lost his family. With heartbreak in their pasts, each must find the courage and faith to grab an unexpected chance at true love.”

From there, things escalated.

Crowley became Tony, Aziraphale became Ezekiel. And the boy—who soon became the key to unlock this story in my mind—became James.

Somewhere along the way, this stopped being “a Hallmark plot but make it Good Omens” and turned into a story about love and chosen family, with Christmas on the side.

So, that’s everything, I think. Thank you for being here, and I hope you enjoy this strange, tender, snow-covered little AU as much as I loved writing it. 🎄☃️📚
