What I loved about #becomingbulletproof #book is The #SecretService agent #EvyPoumpouras protected several #USA #presidents - they always behaved in a presidential way, polite, always listened no matter who required their attention, they never felt #intimidated or down They never made the other person feel bad, wrong or rushed It made me remember what Simon Cowell goes on about 'Make me feel #important' 🤔 Or a sentence I once heard: Don't let anyone come anyone near you WITHOUT making them feel better - quite a #challenge indeed! 😅 Evy made me reconsider the way I answer to people. 'Hold space for others' as #DonnaGiffen says 👀 Coming back to the book, I also loved how she explained how to catch someone who is #lying, how she fought hard to win her place at work, how we are #primed & her most #heartbreaking message in the end 'we must bear the #unbearable' 💔😢 How essential is the power of #empathy, of #listening without #attacking 👂🏻 She taught me the 3rd missing human response, #fight #flight #freeze responses & how we have to pay attention to which one is our default, & work on it 🔍 She talks about preserving the student's dignity, in short, you would have to read it all, if you wanted the full insight, you will not regret it 😉 Best of all, I love how she is small yet #powerful, she has #Greek roots & I appreciated her #honesty in her #writing - I did wonder if she'd get in trouble! (all clear!) I agree a good pick up movie is 'Rocky'! 🥊 I can't remember much about 'Gladiator' but I love the song 'Now we are free' 😃 I found her by chance, when a friend suggested me to check out #womenofimpact - although I found Evy's video on their profile & I got immediately attracted to her words - when someone talks, listen, let them speak and observe their #bodylanguage, what is it they are NOT telling you I knew I had to get her book!
