Went to Vue Bedford last weekend for Toy Story 5, had a really good time, it was fun and enjoyable, the cinema was absolutely packed. It is Toy Story.
The films premise, technology vs traditional toys was actually a really interesting direction and felt relevant, Im a parent so know what how tech can influence children's attention and behaviours. A shame idea wasn't fully explored.
Jessie is the lead, the story ecloved around her character which I wasn't expecting. Woody and Buzz are around, but definitely more supporting characters this time, just like the rest of the toy gang.
The animation remains ridiculous, Pixar continues to set high standards in the space. Everything looks amazing. Really can't fault it.
There are loads of laughs throughout too, perhaps more aimed at adults judging by their engagement during the screening 😂
The film wasn't as emotionally strong as the original trilogy but still a fun family cinema watch.
