So it's time to share the project I've been working on. I call it the: Anyone Can Be a Princess Project. Growing up I never saw princesses who looked like me. This was incredibly hard as a child. I started to think, maybe the reason I couldn't relate to characters was because I wasn't pretty, I was too different, or I was bad in some way. I had no role models, no characters, no examples who I could look up to, no one who shared a common background. As I grew up and got older, I found a world of new experiences and new people. I was celebrated for my differences, and I found people who build my confidence, and made me feel truely beautiful for the first time in my life. Most importantly I found my passion, when I discovered modeling and cosplay. I found a welcoming community and I felt accepted. But old demons die hard, and I still faced feeling like I didn't really belong. I ran into some people who reinforced this fear. people who said I couldn't cosplay certain characters because of my hair, my size or my skin tone. It's hard to admit, but at the time I believed them. I let other people's negativity sway my desires, and drag me back to a place of self doubt. But I've come a long way since then, and I'm ready to try my hand at all the cosplays I've been too scared to try in the past. I'm done holding back and listening to the haters!
