I just have a burning curiosity about Mazin (the poor little bean ;-;). Who is his preferred caretaker and how do they care for him when he dissociates?

mazin’s preference for caretaker, hmmm.  so when he’s at home his mom is really good at taking care of him when he’s sick, because she just does what he needs her to do, nothing more and nothing less.  she trusts him to tell her if he needs anything else, and mazin really appreciates that.

the gamer squad is… not like that.  at least not at first.

zeph is out of the question because he literally would kick mazin out of their shared room at the first sign of sickness because he’s not willing to sacrifice his own health.

addie would try to go the physical comfort direction to often.

surprisingly, i think hunter would be the best for him out of the group.  his incredibly high energy level would be kind of draining for maz, but hunter is surprisingly aware of the fact that different people require different things.  he’s the kind to ask what mazin needs rather than assuming or guessing blindly.

in terms of dissociating, hunter would deal with that mostly the same as how he deals with sickness - by asking maz what he wants.  the way he frames his questions when mazin’s dissociating would be a bit different though - rather than open ended questions, he’ll do multiple choice or offer suggestions.  so some examples: “would holding your hand help or hurt?” “do you want a back rub?” “can you give me a list of 5 things you can see right now?” “should i keep talking or do you want quiet?” that kind of thing.  and just making sure that he replenishes his fluids and doesn’t pass out or try to walk anywhere.
