We have, what I call, our Bouncer Bee. She patrols my back patio and chases off any wasps or other flying interlopers. I do not know where her hive is, but I assume it's nearby. She doesn't mess with me or my dog, though we have been thoroughly inspected and seemingly deemed non-threatening.
A few years back our BB got into the house and couldn't find her way out, so she had to be escorted out on a hand towel.
This year's BB is smaller than last year's.
Is this common behavior? Is there anything I can do to help? I'm a plant hospice, I'm afraid growing green things isn't my forté...
