For the first time in 22 years there are no little faces peeking around corners to find where I am. There are no overly loud drinks of water, or dramatic sighs, or soft snores from a small bed a few feet away. There are no meds to remember, or potty schedules to work around. No barks. No whines. No canine conversations.
Just silence.
I hate it.
What kind of Millennialā¢ļø are you?

guys. Guys please you're allowed to say big boy words. please we cannot keep just rolling with the sanitization of every space on the internet ok. you're allowed to say suicide. you're allowed to say porn. they're not bad words, they're just words.
also by ''censoring'' the words with silly spellings you're actually making it much harder for people to filter out. please just say Sex you don't have to call it woohoo like it's the fucking sims. i promise the Word Police aren't going to arrest you
I'd love to know if it was ever confirmed that tiktok was demonetizing or removing videos with certain words in them, or if it was just a rumor that people ran with and created a monster. Because so much of this doesn't read as prudishness, it reads like compliance in advance and that's just terrifying.
I don't know about TikTok but a retired mortician, morbid historian, and green burial advocate I follow on YouTube has been demonetized for using words like "suicide", even in an historically accurate story. She's completely funded via patreon now, but YouTube continues to remove and hide her videos.
Even the true crime channels have to edit out key words from both their soundtracks and captions, leaving the content riddled with holes and bleeps, rendering it basically unwatchable.
Not everything is for kids and that's okay. And I second banishing silly misspellings. It's nearly impossible to truly block content you don't want to see when the tags say things like "sui tag" and "seggs" and "pdf file", not to mention that searches are flat ruined if you want to need help with a computer file issue...
Tumblr QUIT MESSING WITH SHIT!
What did you do to messages? Ew.
sometimes people will make you feel stupid for being kind. this makes it hard to stay kind. it is important that you do anyway. if you have become unkind, it is important to remember that you can become kind again. it's a skill, not an inherent trait.
Aziraphale was the first being to lie. You could even say he invented lying. That's neither good nor bad (shades of grey, remember?) - it's simply a fact. After all, lying isn't always wrong. Sometimes we lie to protect the people we love. Sometimes we hide the truth just to survive within the system we're trapped in, so we can keep doing what our hearts tell us is right.
Aziraphale was the first angel to tell a lie. And he had been lying for all of his existence in order to protect, to do the right thing and simply to fucking survive.
What the hell?
Jobisode: "but I lied... to thwart the will of God š„ŗ"
Yeah baby girl, you've been lying since Eden. You lied directly to Her face about the location of your sword. And you did it to give humans a fighting chance.

Michael Sheen: I found toxic forever chemicals in my blood
Michael Sheen has revealed that he found dangerous forever chemicals in his blood.
The Good Omens actor made the discovery during an investigation into buried toxic waste in Wales and the North West.
Now he is calling for official testing at more than a dozen sites where chemical companies such as Monsanto dumped tens of thousands of tons of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the 1970s.
PCBs were once used as coolants, electrical insulators and lubricants, but were banned in Britain in the 1980s because they damage human DNA, are linked to cancer and can stay in soil, water and human tissue for decades.
In a documentary for the BBC, Sheen discovered that residents living near the dumps had suffered rare cancers and had abnormally high levels of PCBs in their blood, while soils had nearly 2,000 times the normal levels of the chemical.
He found PCBs in his own blood when he agreed to be tested to act as a control.
āI wasnāt quite expecting how shocked Iād be by that,ā he told The Telegraph.
āI thought āof course Iāll be tested because you wonāt find anythingā, and then when you get the results, you realise there is no safe level, we all have it in us.ā
Sheen, who was born in Newport and grew up in Port Talbot, South Wales, was browsing the internet nearly a decade ago when he stumbled across the story of Douglas Gowan, a consultant at the National Farmersā Union who had first discovered the toxic waste problem.
In 1972, Gowan found that nine cows had died of poisoning at a farm next to Brofiscin Quarry in South Wales, where drums of toxins had been dumped by chemical manufacturers. He later identified 13 other sites where similar dumping had occurred.
Sheen spent two days video interviewing Gowan and said what he had heard āmade my blood run coldā.
Gowan, who died in 2018, struggled to get the authorities to take his claims seriously. He was attacked by masked men with steel bars outside his private membersā club and was accused of doctoring his results by the Government.
Sheen began examining the claims alongside Dan Ashby and Lucy Taylor, investigative journalists, and found that by the early 1970s, Monsanto knew that PCBs caused health problems, so it stopped production at Anniston, Alabama.
Doctors in the town claimed that babies were born with their intestines outside their bodies, or without eyes, and the town sued the company, settling for $300m (Ā£225m). But as Monsanto decreased production in the US, it ramped up PCB output at Newport.
The city once produced a third of the worldās PCBs and used to dump the chemicals in the River Severn and the Severn Estuary before they were banned. They then started burying the waste in a series of quarries in South Wales.
Residents told the programme that children would paddle in strange ājellyā that was left by the waste trucks, or find scabs on their hands and feet, while residents noticed that their dogs developed spleen cancer or lost their hair.
Villagers complained of contracting tumorous lumps on their backs as well as brain, breast and lymph node cancer.
The Rev Paul Cawthorne, a Shropshire vicar, told the documentary that he became involved in the issue following a deathbed confession from a parishioner who worked in chemical dumping.
āHe said a driver got crystals on his hand and his hand had broken out into a rash instantaneously,ā he said.
āHe went to the site manager and said, āwhatās going on here?ā and the site manager had looked him straight in the eyes and said, āYou donāt want to go asking questions like thatā.ā
The documentary commissioned testing of the sites identified by Gowan and found that 13 of the 14 dumping grounds had higher than normal levels of PCBs.
Brofiscin Quarry on the edge of the village of Groesfaen, near Cardiff, was found to have 160 times higher levels than the national average, even though it was capped in 2011 to stop waste leaking out.
A farm in Alvanley in Cheshire, owned by Paul and Wendy Jackson, was nearly 2,000 times higher than the average. Mr Jackson was also found to have one of the highest readings of PCBs in his blood.
āI hope thereās a public outcryā
Sheen said: āPeople are dying of cancers, rare cancers, and thereās illness, and itās incredibly worrying.
āIām hoping that people will be so outraged and shocked by this story that there will be a demand for something to be done.ā
He added: āThe places where the dumping took place share a pattern, a history of chronic illness that could potentially mask any problems and a desperate need for employment, so nobody feels they can speak out.
āDouglas said there were many, many more, and we only knew of a few. Goodness knows how much of this is out there.ā
Natural Resources Wales said PCB leaks at Brofiscin Quarry warranted no further action. Cheshire council is investigating the Alvanley farm.
Monsantoās chemical arm became Solutia in 1997, which was acquired by Eastman Chemical Company in 2012, which took on the historical legacy pollutant liabilities.
The company did not respond to a request for comment by the BBC or The Telegraph.
To my knowledge, the only blood samples currently known to not contain PFAs are preserved samples from soldiers pre-dating WWI.

(Heya, sorry for yet again disappearing for forever, but Iām done with all my stuff for TIC!)
āself diagnosed autism is bad because it takes away support services from people who actually need them!ā
what support services? unless you are a child there is none and the people without professional diagnosis need them too!
Say it louder for the people in the back
There absolutely are support services for adults, at least in the UK. There's in home care, supported living, residential care homes. There's autistic adult groups for those with medium to low support needs that focus on socialization, exercise or art therapy. There's individual adult ABA therapy as well as group therapy services. There's services to help disabled people incl autistic people get a job. There are disability support animals specifically trained to help autistic people. There's government disability pay (Personal Independence Payment or Disability Living Allowance).
A fair amount of these services are also charity based and therefore have limited resources, some of it NHS funded which again, have limited resources.
I have mixed feelings on self diagnosis itself but there are resources for autistic adults, and they might be being taken away by self diagnosers, I can't say for sure but it's important to know that there are services available to autistic adults.
Unfortunately many of us in the U.S. and other countries donāt receive the support you get in your country. Feel extremely fortunate to have those services. Because many of us donāt.
I'm in the US as well and none of those services are available without an official diagnosis or demonstration of need in another capacity.
Self-diagnosed persons can't access accommodations at school or work or home unless those accommodations are provided for a different diagnosis. We literally can't steal services from other people.
Not to mention that even if you've qualified for assistance through other means, you still have to pay for it. Copays and self-pay services can bankrupt a person.
An official diagnosis can mean no longer being qualified to do things like adopt a child... Stop trying to gatekeep people finally not feeling broken, but gaining an understanding of themselves. Or finally grasping that our limitations have reasons. Sometimes self-diagnosis is the only validation and help we'll ever get.

I'm shaped like this if anyone cares
Controversial take but I think we more often need to accept that sometimes itās not personal, but that a person still doesnāt fuck with us. They donāt want a relationship with us, they donāt wanna be our friend. Weāre not their type for whatever reason. They donāt hate us but they arenāt interested in building something with us in any capacity. Itās not that they have a lot going on, itās not that they canāt receive love, itās not what a lot of people concoct just not to deal with the sting of rejection. Sometimes weāre just not somebodyās type. And thatās okay and we donāt have to curl up in fetal position in a corner about it. We will not be the type of every person we encounter and that is natural and nothing to lose sleep over
sorry to hear that you havenāt been feeling all that great lately. Do you want me to hunt you for sport
