for most of the game's lore getting to the tau system (another solar system basically) has been a huge goal/plot point/whatever ... it was because the player was on a ship that was trying to Go there that majority of the stuff happening in the game rn Actually Happened
warframe's story is effectively told in two perspectives lately ... the operator (a 17634643973 year old child soldier) and the drifter (an adult who grew up in a torture labyrinth timeloop for thousands of years). at the end of 1999/the hex quest where arthur and co are introduced a character says "tau is in sight" right before shooting the drifter and more recently the devs showed a preview of a quest coming this december where the operator is trying to find tau through their memories ...... at the end of that preview they showed "tau 2026":
the devs also said in an interview that 2026 is when the storylines are gonna Converge again . and when the drifter talks about people in 1999 they talk about "no matter where i go i know i can trust them" . some of them also have conversations with you talking about how they know you're going to leave eventually ;__; arthur's come to terms with it now but I STILL DONT WANNA LEAVEEEEE NOOOOO HE HAD A NIGHTMARE ABOUT THE DRIFTER DYING ALL ALONE WHERE HE CAN'T REACH THEM AND EVERYTHIGN!!!!
The new CV2 update added a gift vendor and I've discovered there are 2 unique voicelines for each loved and refused gifts and 1 general line for liked and neutral ones. And it made me wonder, what comments would Mina share and if she had any? If you don't mind me asking
hiii anon!!! sorry i'm getting to this so late you reminded me that the update dropped and then i spent 15 minutes running around looking for the vendor and i thought for some reason i didn't unlock it yet so i went and replayed soul saviour, discovered you can fall off the side, and had to do it again and Then spent 15 more minutes looking in the present and free explore BUT IT WAS RIGHT THERE IN MAGMELL!!!!! anyways thank youuuuu for asking 🥺 i started yapping so i'm putting it utc!!! sorry in advance for the giant wall of text...
i was actually thinking about what mina's gift voicelines would've been a while back and then it completely slipped my mind... i was thinking her favs would be the paint set and maybe the perfume...? i can see her getting really excited and losing her composure for a sec when you gift one to her 😭 for the paint she'd probably be likeeee...

i think she definitely hates the beer ☝️ i had it written down that she dislikes alcohol!!! she just dislikes the taste and in my head she doesn't like getting drunk because she can't really police her own behaviour when she's like that... she doesn't like knowing she might've said something "inappropriate" (read: quantum calculated three times over and tailor made to be palatable to whoever is listening) but the sake/wine/brandy is like. more luxurious/expensive so she can kinda appreciate it yk... her lines would probably be something like...
"i'm really sorry... i can't accept this... i'm not the most fond of beer, and... i'm simply ghoulish under the influence. truly, it's for the best."
"oh, what to do... i hate to put a gift to waste, but... i'm sure there are others who would be far more appreciative of this than i."
for all the neutrals i can see her being like this!!!
