A traditional Italian dish called Beef Braciole is made with thin slices of beef rolled up with a tasty filling and cooked in a tasty tomato sauce. It's filling, hearty, and full of delicious flavors.
Ingredients: 4 slices beef round steak about 1/4 inch thick. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 4 slices prosciutto. 4 slices provolone cheese. 1/4 cup chopped parsley. Salt and pepper to taste. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 onion, chopped. 2 cups marinara sauce. 1/2 cup beef broth.
Instructions: Pound the beef slices to about 1/8 inch thickness. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Place a slice of prosciutto, provolone cheese, and a spoonful of breadcrumb mixture on each beef slice. Roll up the beef slices tightly and secure with toothpicks. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown the beef rolls on all sides, then remove and set aside. In the same skillet, saut onions until softened. Add marinara sauce and beef broth, stirring to combine. Return beef rolls to the skillet, spooning sauce over them. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until beef is tender. Remove toothpicks before serving.
