A tasty take on the traditional Reuben sandwich, this burger has juicy beef patties, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and rye croutons. The flavors really hit you hard.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 hamburger buns. 1 cup sauerkraut, drained. 4 slices Swiss cheese. 1/4 cup Russian dressing. 8 slices rye bread for croutons. 2 tbsp butter for croutons. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your preferred level of doneness. While the burgers are cooking, make croutons by spreading butter on the rye bread slices and toasting them in a pan until golden brown. Cut them into small squares and set aside. In the last few minutes of grilling, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each burger patty and allow it to melt. To assemble the burgers, spread Russian dressing on the bottom half of each hamburger bun. Place a burger patty with melted Swiss cheese on top of the dressing. Add a generous portion of sauerkraut on top of the burger patty. Sprinkle the rye croutons over the sauerkraut. Top with the other half of the hamburger bun to complete the sandwich. Serve your Classic Reuben Burger hot and enjoy!
