Turn a classic Italian sub sandwich into a delicious burger! This Italian Sub Burger is loaded with flavor from provolone cheese, pepperoncini peppers, olives, and more. It's a perfect fusion of Italian and American cuisines.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 burger buns. 4 slices of provolone cheese. 1/2 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers. 1/4 cup sliced black olives. 1/4 cup sliced red onion. 1/4 cup sliced tomatoes. 1/4 cup shredded iceberg lettuce. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Set your grill or griddle on the stove to medium-high heat to get it ready. Salt and pepper should be mixed with olive oil, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, and red wine vinegar in a small bowl. Cut the ground beef into four patties and sprinkle salt and pepper on top of each one. The burger patties should be cooked for four to five minutes on each side, or until they're done the way you like them. Add a slice of provolone cheese to each patty and let it melt in the last minute of cooking. Do this while the burgers are cooking: toast the buns on the grill until they get a little crispy and have grill marks on them. Put the burgers together: On the bottom half of each toasted bun, spread mayonnaise. On top of the mayo, put a burger patty with cheese that has spread out. Put black olives, red onion, tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and pepperoncini peppers on top. Pour the dressing over the toppings, and then put the other half of the toasted bun on top. You should serve your Italian Sub Burger hot and enjoy it!
