few shots of a removal yesterday of a hive that had built a nest in the space between floor joists of the second level of a residence. The homeowners fiancé literally stopped the exterminators who were going to kill them a few weeks ago in their tracks and insisted on saving the hives (yes, multiple) living in the house structure. Props to her so I had to help. This 20,000-30,000 bee colony was a little tricky to locate without doing major damage but we found the easiest and safest route through the second level subfloor. I worked directly with an exterminator and taught him live removal techniques. Because I was not working under contract with a disclaimer about damage I let him go at it with the sawsall (... hard for me ... I love a good chop saw). Small daisy-chained zip ties are always dependable for framing drawn comb and the good stuff fit into one 8f deep box.
