I've gone on a tobiizu rabbit hole and I just. Really like your art. Something about it is just so. Mwah. Beautiful. The intimacy and the way you draw your characters idk man.

Scratch that make that all of your characters coz I just went on another rabbit hole (aka team 7 shenanigans which 🥹 domestic feels my beloved...)

My favorite thing is the way you draw tobiizu, bc most of the other art are a lot angsty and shit (plus rly feminine Izu and hypermasc Tobi which is cool but all the time?? It also skews their interactions a lot and doesn't have much happy endings or at least just them being happy...). Yours are like. A warm hug r some shit. Ugh I don't have the words for it (T^T), bear with my crude language plz.

It's just all so good. 🤧 Makes me go AAAAAA

it's true, i'm somewhat allergic to tragic endings and will tend to strongly diverge from them--and yeah, tobiizu has all the setup of ending badly 999 times out of a 1000. But I'm a sucker for the underdog story of triumph 🥲

i just want my blorbos to be happy, your honour. fluff and romance and wholesomeness feed my soul. if i want tragedy i've got it in spades from canon. and if i inflict tragedy i'm gonna make it have a happy ending idk what to tell y'all, i'm very predictable.

Actually, Hashirama (personally, not as Hokage) footed the bill for this one. He made a joke to Izuna about it being an "early wedding gift" *wink wink*

Izuna, who is not fully aware of Hashirama's matchmaking schemes for Tobirama, initially thinks Hashirama is just making a joke about the mission's premise of undercover newlyweds - after all, Hashirama funding a mission to make Tobirama take a break from work is not difficult to believe.

Hashirama accomplishing several tasks with this one mission is just efficient business. The tasks in question:

Tobirama takes a much needed vacation

Izuna is one of the few people that can ensure Tobirama doesn't scurry off to work more and thus this mission puts them into Situations Together (™)

Hashirama gets to make his dad joke about an early wedding gift while also secretly being completely serious about it

This brings him one step closer to his Konoha-Symbolic Uchiha-Senju marriage-by-choice (not arranged, though Hashirama is certainly pulling strings - consider the hilarity of the idea that TobiIzu would have gotten married much faster if Hashirama did not intervene)

Hashirama agreeing to Izuna's scheme builds good will and rapport with his future brother-in-law

Izuna's part in this: he just wanted to spite Tobirama's code of conduct but in a sexy fun way and is "taking advantage" of Hashirama's concern for Tobirama's workaholic tendencies.

Izuna: I want to take a "mission" as undercover newlyweds with Tobirama

Hashirama: Absolutely, yes

Context:

The real reason Tobirama is blushing in that frame:

Not sure if you can tell from their poses, but Izuna has been steadily closing distance with Tobirama after their first tumble. The reasons for blushing at that point are off screen.

hello!! I very recently got into tobiizu and I adore your drawings! I just got the fantasy zine last week and was so happy to see those precious boys! For this tobiizu newbie looking to explore the fandom a little more, do you have any favorite fics or authors? And do you know if there are any tobiizu events going on this year?

I am admittedly really out of touch on the latest tobiizu on AO3. But I CAN shamelessly plug the blogs of writers whose work I enjoyed over the years. List includes but definitely is not limited to:

@good-grievance (who wrote the poem that went with my art in the zine! my personal favorite of theirs is Solemates, but they write an incredibly wide range of AUs. Just go see.)

Oooh do u remember the one where u drew a small snippet of amnesia!Izuna? Can we see more of it? Or the bit where Izuna regains his memory?

(spoiler alert) Izuna doesn't regain his memory until the VERY end after they've already gone through all the pain and suffering, slow burn development, and falling in love again.

In the epilogue, on some random day, Izuna wakes up and remembers everything. It's a bittersweet reunion, but they've been through so much worse together.

They'll be okay, though.
