ALSO misty/lapis fits rly well due to their water theme and i LOVE it too, but also consider lillie/lapis due to their backstories and character development! i’m also very keen on clemont/peridot due to SCIENCE and them being NERDS lol but i can see how your idea works too :’) btw iris/ame is just absolute perfection  100% agree with you there 👌

oh and….lusamine/yellow diamond…….mostly just for the aesthetic but, still……

anyway i haven’t put much thought into the other roles bc not everything is going to fit as well (although i rly like that one rose/pearl=james/jessie post i saw a while back, despite the implication that jessie would be ash’s mom lol but hey i’ll roll with it) but it’s really fun to think about!! i’d love to see more of it 😊

lmao but then leaf ends up liking dawn too so she's conflicted, she's been friends w ash & gary since they were kids but she doesn't feel any type of romantic attraction to them and her best friend is ritchie, but shauna is also gay for serena so there is that, but serena is StraightTM in her head until she realizes she likes girls too so it's a mess, she prob ends up liking both dawn & ash

i still think abt that high school au too, w other characters but mostly just the love triangle and how it's an actual love triangle w dawn->serena->ash-> which then goes back to dawn which is a lot better and gayer than if they were both fighting for ash lmao but i'm thinking of making an actual story for it? like each of them has a dorm and ash & dawn have their japanese names bc serena is french & all
