Full glad was the warrior when the stricken Miqo’te announced that he had power enough to at least seal the wounds as the dragoon had magic only for healing himself and only in negligable amounts when compared with the abilities of those magically inclined. Removing arrows was well within his capabilities though.
With a firm nod, the vessel crouched, removing a band of leather from one of his armguards and folding it over before proferring it to the wounded male. “It’s going to hurt far more before it does less so,” he warned quietly. “Bite down on this. I would rather not risk luring the local wildlife, or the hunters if they linger still, should you cry out.”
Only once he’d received the go-ahead to begin, did the vessel set his hands to the first shaft and even that would cause yet more pain to radiate out from the wounds. Nevertheless, the warrior worked as quickly and carefully as he could. He was no chirurgeon though and while his hands were steady, he wasn’t particularly delicate.
One by one the arrows were removed, though the head of one dislodged as it was being extracted. Luckily it was close enough to the surface that the vessel could pluck it free without needing to pull his knife to dig it out.
“It is done,” he announced once the last arrow was free of the other’s body. Though his hands were bloodied by the efforts and left dark stains on the outside of it, he reached for the waterskin at his hip and held it out in offering. “Rest a while. If anyone, or anything encroaches, I will handle it.”

‘ and to me, they gave a helmet of invisibility. sometimes my gift was called the "cap" of invisibility. seriously? caps are what baseball players wear. caps are cute. caps are silly. the king of the underworld does not wear a "cap". it's a helmet, people. you wouldn't call poseidon's trident a "shrimp fork," would you? or zeus's lightning bolts, "sparklers"? so don't let me hear you say "cap." furthermore, i don't want to hear anything about some wizard-boy's "cloak of Invisibility," either. mine came first. ‘ / SAMAEL HARPER ANDERSON
