Spill.com
Rest in peace, Spill. You were the most entertaining movie review & geek podcast site on the net, and over the years had given myself and the legions of Spillios out there a fountain of engaging, off-colour hilarity. The site will be missed, and I look forward to what each of you do in the future.
For any fellow Spill fan who stumbles across this, here are the sites that're either spinoffs from Spill or, in two cases, rose from its ashes: OneOfUs.net - Movie reviews & podcasts, run by Chris Cox (Cyrus), Martin Thomas (Leon), Brian Salisbury, and various other ex-LEOG and ex-Spill folks. If you're looking for a Spill replacement, this is your best bet.
RageSelect - Remember the Loading Bar with Jason Murphy, Prof Jeff, Nick Hodges and Kevin Baird? It has its own site, and they've gotten more insane since then. Great fun. Also features Allison, Grant, and Kayla from the LEOG among others.
The Beerists - John Rubio & Grant Davis of the LEOG, along with Anastasia Kelly and Mike Lambert, drink and review craft beers - and get progressively drunker as they go along. I don't drink and this is one of my favourite podcasts.
Dr Nerdlove - Harris O'Malley of the LEOG doing a relationship advice blog for nerds, with guest appearances from his wife Cat (also of the LEOG), as well as some relationships-in-media articles that're pretty fascinating.
The Lounge Geeks - A podcasting site, which have at various points guest starred everyone from this illustrious history of Spill. Well worth a look. The Korey & Martin Show - Korey Coleman and Martin are doing an A Couple of Cold Ones style podcast, and movie reviews, over on Korey's Soundcloud (KCoolman is his account name). DoubleToasted - It's not launched yet, but this is what Korey's planning on being his spiritual successor to Spill. Its launch party will be at RTX.
