Part 2 of 2 Another art adventure we went on was to the Salvador Dali Theatre and Museum which was located in a small town called Figueres about 45 minute train ride north of Barcelona. It was an old theater minutes away from where Dali was born and raised that contains many of his masterpieces. The reason Dali wanted his works to be in a theater was because he believed that his artwork is just like a theater performance. Not only was this the home to many of his art installations but also his grave which is located in the floor of the actual stage of the old theater. It was fun to immerse ourselves in the world of Dali and definitely worth the trip! After our adventures in Barcelona it was time to head off to Valencia where we would take our own bike tour around the park circling downtown, stopping at the science and art museum, and the most amazing paella made by the hospitable Toni Montoliu! Stay tuned for our next post!
